I have the same issue with my truck. I took it back to the shop for the regular tighten down and told them what i was hearing. The mech checked it out and i apolagize but the part name has slipped my mind, but its metal on metal with no bushing hiting eachother. The shop called Fabtech about the issue and Fabtechs reply was all our 6 inch lifts on the Titans are doing this and they have not come up with a solution yet.

I drove my truck off road hunting today and it sounded like somthing was going to fall off! I'm startying to get pretty pissed at this situation. The truck makes no noise, no noise at all. And then I have it lifted and it goes this. BAH!

I think i'm going to take it to a different shop tomorrow before I have the struts replaced :flame:

I am running stock struts in the rig. I would have normally opted for the stage two, but I plan on doing some more inches and was thinking of going custom. Dunno yet, but I want it fixed since there are no miles on it.

In my humble opinion, I think that it is the lower control arms (LCA) sliding back and forth between the crossmember braces. If you go under the truck and look, it appears as though there is about 1/4" of free space for the arms to travel fore and aft. I have the PC Stage 1 kit and still have the stock c/o's with the PC spacer on top. I have checked and rechecked for issues with the UCA and coilbuckets. There is no evidence of interference between those two parts. Following picture shows suspension at full droop.

Word is that PRG sells some Delrin (or maybe another synthetic material) bushings/spacers to cure this problem. Not certain of pricing though, should be pretty reasonable.

I was able to repeat the problem several times though, without hitting a bump at all. There is a 10" curb in front of my apartment. I pulled into the parking place and rolled up to the curb at about 5mph. When the wheels hit the curb, the CLUNK also occurred. That's what leads me to believe that it is the LCA's.

When a force (bump) acts against the wheel, it in turn is acting against the entire front suspension assembly, including the LCA's. This in turn causes the LCA's to want to be pushed rearward, along the axis of the bolts securing them to the frame. Because of the large amount of slop (1/4" or more possibly) that exists there, the LCA's make a clunk when they reach the point of resistance.

Here is a quick sketch of what I'm trying to describe:

Well I have to tell you that my days of being pissed off are over.....It was the drivers front shock...I got it replaced today and it feels tight again an NO MORE BUMP BUMP BUMP.

I got it replace under warranty, they did tell me that it would not have been under warranty if my lift was over 3 inches.....since mine is only a 2.5 level kit they went ahead and swapped it out.....Dont know if this is a fact or what but it was definatly the problem......

I hope this help all you guys out that has this problem.....just a crappy stock nissan shock.:sunshine:

Thats good news, that it was the shock, aka strut. I have two that juts arrived at schwabs, going to get them put on ASAP.

I had the same problem you did, bump bumpity bump right through the floor board.

I went fishing today, and just killed the sturgeon on the Columbia, and now I know the problem to my truck...yesssss :rockon

I was a happy camper let me tell you....it rides soooooo quite now, even feels like it handles better.....Let me know if your truck gets rid of the BUMPS...Later dude.

hmm.. mine is something else cuz it still makes the noise and i have rebuilt pro comp coilovers... and about the sway bar end links, i thought that was my problem too but i took the sway bar completely off and the noise just got worse..

make sure your rear shocks are tighten up at the upper bolt attachment, my were loose... when i had mine lifted and they would rattle and i could not figure it out... till i pushed back and forth on the rear ded and heard the noise and got under it and finally found out what it was

I would think that it's the shock, being how I have the exact same noise you did. Thumping through the floor on small bumps.

I get my shock, er..strut changed on monday so I will know for sure!
