as the title states.. i had a blonde moment.. trying to park in a small spot today.... nomally when i park i feel like im tooo close and end up leaving about 2 feet between me and the car/tree/bush/cart what ever is in front of me.. well today.. i was going to get something to finish my truck.. and pulled into a small spot.. got to close and hit the corner of the wall!!!! left a huge dent in the front of my chrome bumper... any ideas on fixing it.. getting a new one... nissan quoted me just under $300 for a new one... im thinking about painting it black or getting vinyl anyways.... any suggestions???

trust me.. i felt like an idiot doing this =( i had a little tear in my eye... my poor truck... lol

not to mention.. this was after i just spent 2 hours... washing... and cleaning out my truck.. redoing my badges flat black and taking the 4x4 off road stickers off... =(

no... but someone told me you cant get it fixed.. it would have to be replaced.. cause my thinking was pushing it out from the inside.. and painting it black or doing the vinyl.. and they said you would still be able to realllly see it..

Hate it when that stuff happens.... But yeah, pushing that out, you'll still see it. And that steel is a lot thicker than a body panel... It wouldn't be easy to fix. Replacement.

Bah, mine has a dent in the front too when I bought it. I hear what you're saying but hell it's a truck. Dents are normal.

yeah.. it would just be sooo much nicer if i had a job to pay for it!!!! hahaha... and im going to try and take it apart today.. because my brother fixed part of it alreadyy last night.. but its right where a reinforcement is.. so he couldnt get to all of it!! but thank you... =) (btw.. i go up threw there quite often... i have a condo up in brian head.. its beautiful up that way!!)

$300 is too much. You can get a new one in the $200-ish range and it's fairly easy to DIY replace.

hahaha... none.. but i live in a gated community.. in a cul de sac.. lol and the bf is about 4 hours away so no luck there.. but i got fed up with it! lol and said f this.. ill deal with the dent for a bit.. till i find a used.. or buy a new one =)

hey, let me call my friend up who may still have his oem front bumper (chrome)... he had a prerunner bumper made and removed it but i don't recall if he tossed it, recycled it or kept it. let me find out! if not i may have another option. also, i was out in henderson/vegas for a week and a half a few weeks ago. i should've somehow contacted you so you could show me the dezert trails out in henderson!!!

okay... just got a text from my friend and YES he still has his oem front bumper (chrome)... let me see if i can talk him into selling it since he will no longer ever have a need for it. brb

It's really not that difficult. I replaced mine in a few hours. The shop quoted me at like $900 to get it fixed (parts and labor)...You just unscrew a whole bunch of sh*t, take off the bumper brackets, put them on the new bumper, and rescrew them. I know this is a vauge reply, pm if you want a detailed description. I figured the whole thing out on my own, it's not complicated, the only hard part is to get the new bumper to sit level.

see.. my problem.. i was not strong enough to remove the two bottom ones on the sides... i couldnt get a screw driver in there to turn them.. and i couldnt pop them out like i did the top ones... i finally said screw it.. and just put it back on... lol... but you have to remember.. i was dumb enough to hit a wall with my truck... what makes you think i can get the damn bumpers off... hahaha.. jk..
