Re: help wire plug has no running or right turn lights all fuses good, is one of the modu

If your truck didn't come with a hitch and you added it you need 2 relays.

Re: help wire plug has no running or right turn lights all fuses good, is one of the modu

it is factory installed tow package, and worked fine for years, but now i have no right turn, or head lights on tow lights, i do tow a boat, so i thought i might have broken one of the 2 towing controlers in the fuse box under the hood, but i don't know what they do or how to check them.

Gee...If I only knew what year Titan the OP has....Oh well...
The trailer light circuits have changed over the years...

THE BCM controls the turn/brake lights, but the running lights are run by a relay off of the trucks running lights...

Wish I had a buck for every trailer light question posted without the poster adding what year his dang ride was...

But...the Nissan wiring diagrams I have still show only 2 relays used from 04-06, one for the running lights, the other for 12v feed to the trailer while the key is on...
Those years also should have the "Tow Harness" TSB mod installed adding 2 fuses from the BCM (for the left & right turn/brake) hidden behind the lower steering column plastic...It still sounds like fuse issues, the turn/brake and running lights are two different curcuits.

If the running lights are out on both truck & trailer, then fuse #37 (10 amps) and the running light relay are the issue, if just the running lights on the trailer are out, then fuse #32(also 10 amps) and the trailer relay are suspect.

Are you sure you don't have a ground issue?
Are you checking for voltage at the trucks 7 pin trailer connecter?

thanks Loufish

My trailer running lights are also not working and I would like to check fuse #32, as Loufish suggests. What I am not clear on is where #32 is located; inside the cab in the passenger fusebox or somewhere in the relay box that I am not seeing or maybe in the larger black box immediately behind (closer to the firewall)? I have not taken the top of this box off.

thanks

Okay, color me stupid.. 2005 Titan, same trailor light problem that everyone seems to have. Bought a campershell off another Titan owner, told him my prob and I had read it was a relay that needed added. He called back, had it down, all is well. Just tell me where the relay I need to add is located and where I can get one. THANKS for this place, has helped me alot. The more I drive my truck the more I like it...

Sadly we are all out of that color...:)

This is what your relay box should look like...

Many people have purchased the missing relays from UHaul dealers for a fair price...The dealers seems to charge a lot...

nissan titan 2005 4x4. i have the same problem. towed our camper last year lights worked fine . checked the fuses under the hood, their good. no signal or brake lights to the 7 pin .does that controller under the dash have fuses an where is it located.what is a bcm ?

You should have 3 relays. If not, you are missing one. When I had to buy mine, the guy at the dealership said in conversation that he thought it was ridiculous that Nissan left these off of all the trucks, even the Big Tow packages, so I'm assuming that you have to buy all 3, unless someone had installed them previously. He gave all three of them to me for $75, well below the price they usually charge for them.

04-05 only use two relays.
06+ need 3 relays.
The big tow does come with them installed from the factory.
You could have gotten all 3 relays ct Uhaul for about $25.:D

I know, but they were out of stock the day I got them, and I had to have them that day, so I had to go to the dealership. I'm just going by what the guy at the dealership told me, and that was that none of the Titan's come from the factory with the relays, just another way for Nissan to make money.

does one of the towing modules controle this, i have no running lights, or right turn lights from the toing plug. and all fuses good. plese help??
Did you by chance check the two 10amp fuses under the dash? There is a small white plastic box that holds two fuses, just pop the top and check each one. Each fuse controls each side of the turn signals.
