When I slow down I can feel the floorboard knock and hear a loud clunk clunk noise and this doesn't happen enough and I can't make it happen to see exactly what it is. last month I brought it the shop in because of this same noise and found the rear passenger side axel seal was leaking and the brake caliper was sticking but before he found the caliper was bad he took off driveshaft and checked u joints and said they were tight he then realized the caliper was sticking and we thought that maybe this was the noise so rebuilt both calipers so I wouldn't have to go back hopefully anytime soon. but now the noise is back and I'm thinking when he took off the u joint maybe when he put it back it was tight and now it's messing up again and now it's making the noise a lot more frequent any suggestions? Please it's driving me crazy noise only occurs when decelerating... Sometimes loud click other times multiple clunk clunk clunks sorry for it being so long it's hard to explain sounds lol

Also before I brought into shop I thought noise was coming from rear end so he pulled the cover and all was intact but rear axal seal was leaking and this noise is hard to tell which way it's coming from at first I thought it was the rear but now I can almost 100 percent say the front any suggestions on what this might be am I close to think it was ujoints are I am way off? Please help I might not be to mechanically inclined but I know enough to know something ain't right the noise freaks me out when I hear it

i just had a hub go out. thats an easy thing to check for.,..jack up the front of your truck and see if the tires wiggle at 12 and 6'o clock. when'd i'd stop i'd hear it squeaking, and than it turned into a clunking thatd only happen sometimes.
I dont know if this is anything close to what your having, but like i said, its easy to check for.

Thanks this is something I will deff look into as so I did and still do hear squeaking when stoping even right after a front brake job so maybe this is the problem how expensive was the fix? And if I don't fix immediately is it detrimental to anything else are is it something that will cause anything negative to happen I just looked up part at auto zone at 300 a piece Id have to wAit to fix till the Funds are available but I don't want to cause any other damage ?

I had a similar situation, turned out to be front U-joints. They were fixed under warranty so I couldn't tell ya the cost...

sounds like front u-joints i just had mine done under warrenty 34k coulnt believe they would go so quick

Mine had 102,000 miles but then again I got it with 85,000 so who knows if that was the first time or not. I also had a bad rear axle seal when the u-joint issue was discovered so maybe they go hand in hand? When I got the u-joints fixed, they didn't tighten them enough or something cuz they got loose again and it was way worse, including thumping.
