Hi guys, I'm new here.
I have done a few searches on Nav updates and found a ton of information but so far, my simple mind cant seem to understand most of it!
I recently got an 05' crew with factory NAV. The guy I bought it from said the disc was out of date. Upon checking it, I found that the disc was gone and I have been staring at the " Map DVD is not in slot" message for the past month.
There is a lot of info on burning copies and torrents and such, but I am a contractor and dont grasp the digital stuff that well. it also appears in the searches I have done that the 04'-05' models are specific and not compatable with newer versions.
So here is my plea...
Does anyone have a disc that I put put in my truck, that will work? original, copied and burned, it doesnt really matter to me. I just need something to put in the player and use.
Latest versions would be great, but anything is greatly appreciated!
I'm not looking for a handout, let me know what you want for it via PM and we can go from there. Thanks!!! :hi:

I have never owned OEM navigation systems in any of my cars but I have friends that have them evern in 2011 GLK350 MB's and I have never really cared for them. My wife got a MB GLK as a rental one day and the GPS in there got her lost, took her up one way streets and in to dead ends and when she took a wrong turn it did not re-route her. This was during a business trip to Louisville KY. I have no idea if the Nissan one is the same as the Toyota\MB ones I have seen, so if you can get a free disk to just try it out... great.

Save some money and get a Kenwood DNX9980HD its pricy but it is the last headunit\navi you will ever buy. It has built in Navi, Built in HD radio, BT for your phone.

I love mine and will never give it up... Till the next one comes out....LOL

I bought my Pro4x with the nav (to get the DVD player for the kids, actually), and so far, other than having a few places where the 09-10 disk is missing new roads or hasn't caught up to recent construction, I've been alright with it. My son wishes it was touch screen, and I wish it would let a passenger change the route and destination while the vehicle is in motion, but other than that, it's pretty accurate and seems to work well. I've used it in four unfamiliar cities and it has yet to get me lost, even with a re-designed interchange in Atlanta factored in. Overall, it's easily as good as the Garmin we bought my wife for her truck, or any of the rental car units I've used (TomTom, Garmin, and Magellan).

To each his own, I suppose. As for the original question, I haven't spent the money to upgrade to the 2010-2011 disk, at $150, but I'll likely upgrade every three years or so. About to buy the wife a new Garmin or Magellan with lifetime map updates included, but that's another story.

stock nav sucks..only perk is it looks fancy..lol

I updated mine for $99 last summer when they were on sale since it was 4 years old. I figure every 4 years ain't too bad at that cost to stay up-to-date. When I have needed to use it it performed to my expectations.

I do have the older CD (the one that came with the truck in '07) somewhere. I assume it'll work with your truck, not sure. If you find out that it can, and if I find it, I'll send it your way.
