Is it normal for these trucks to only spin one tire every time theres a bit of ice on one side? My truck pretty much seems like an open rear end. Thnks

Ok thanks guys I thought they had a real limited slip. I allways turn that traction controll off because its annoying as hell it seems too agressive but sounds like thats the only way to get traction.

The other day a rock came up and smashed the wire that runs to the rear passanger wheel speed sensor, that cause the slip light to stay on and there was no way to put it into 4x4. Its real fun when your trying to drive thru 2 feet of snow in 1 wheel drive!

All Titans have ABLS and you can't turn it off. If you are turning something off it is probably VDC. VDC is all about controlling yaw, when the computer senses excess yaw(ie fish tailing), it will cut your throttle and apply the brakes until yaw is under control, meaning you are going straight.
Turning off VDC can help you get going where you want to as you can spin the tires and induce yaw with ABLS helping a little in gaining some traction.

I have a question about this topic, not trying to hijack the thread though. Haven't had my T for very long and don't know if i have ABLS. I notice when i do get some wheel spin in 2wd i see a yellow light flashing on the right of my cluster. Don't know if thats it working or not, doesn't always flash when i get some wheel spin.

I recently learned that ABLS is not turned off when VDC is turned off. However, if you press the brake pedal (while VDC is off) then ABLS does not kick in.

When i turn off the TCS button there is no traction controll on my 08.
Just lots of "One tire fire"
Only spinning a single tire when attempting a burnout in a two wheel drive vehicle.
Usually this happens with cheap, economy based vehicles and most front wheel drive vehicles that lack an equal torsion differential.
"Look at the clown in that Cutlass doing the one tire fire."
Unfortunately, you are correct. Our "one tire fire" kinda sucks.

I once got stuck in my front yard. I was trying to pull the boat out of the backyard. I had to have my wife come home and pull me out! :ftard:

Every Titan made has ABLS, some may think they don't have it, but they do.
All newer Titans have VDC as it is Federal law.
It is a given that when you press the brake pedal, ABLS is won't work.ABLS is designed to give you more traction so you can go forward or backwards, When you press the brake pedal you want to stop. You can't do both at the same time.

Sorry dude, but you are wrong about the ABLS.

This is just one example but there are actually component differences in the trucks.

So there is a fuse for VDC/ABLS, so surprise there.
Just look at every brochure from 04 to the present and ABLS is standard on all Titans.

Not according to nissanhelp.com in the specifications section

2004 = standard on 4x4, option on 4x2

2005 thru 2008 lists it as part of Trac Package for XE and SE

2009 lists it as optional on XE and SE 4x2

2010+ seems to indicate standard for everything.

My truck is a 08 and I have ABLS but no VDC.
