So, there's 4 sensors on the back of my bumper. I recently replace 1 with a rearview camera. However, when removing 1 or more sensors, the rest doesn't work. Could I somehow rewire it to make the 3 work? Reason is...I don't wanna drill another hole in the bumper. Thanks for any input guys...I will post pics shortly including DNX-7100, bluetooth, pac-jack, aux a/v, ipod control, rearview camera, farenheit screen.

Even if you could remove one and have the remaining three work, wouldn't the effectiveness of the entire system be dimished since you will lose the "field of view" of the removed sensor? (As I understand it, each sensor "looks" at a different spot behind you.) Drilling another hole in the bumper seems a small sacrifice in order to maintain the full capability of the rear sonar. Just my .02.

Thanks for all your input guys. Baseballfan, you seem to have the answer to everything (that picture is all foreign to me, I'll have a buddy look at it). I totally understand your .02 Bob, however, I figured the rearview camera is there. So, anything in the way the camera will pick up around it's "field."

The schematic only helps so much. You don't know what's inside the sensors themselves, and you don't know what's in the controller. Going to be tough to figure out from that.

I wouldn't be surprised to discover the system uses "triangulation" to see and verify its distance findings, and doesn't simply look at 4 individual spots.
