Armada Front Lip on Titan...Result Findings

Hi All! Well I've been searching to see if anyone had a clue why Nissan put a front lip on the Armadas and no luck, so I'll share my findings with you guys.
The lip was made for a purpose and it works well.(hopefully a better one will be produced)
Well before I explain, I work on alot of Hondas and I'm real anal about suspension and handling. So I do know quite a bit about that.

Well to begin I did put an Armada front lip on my Titan and I noticed a big diffrence. The lip helps direct air down and around the frontend. By doing that it also helps keep the frontend down for better aerodynamic. Before I installed the lip my Titan use to sway alot when there's wind or just being being other trucks/suvs. After the lip I notice a big change, NO MORE SWAYING!!! I also feel the frontend is tighter to the road by the downforce. I also gain a bit in gas milage too.

I hope this helps out.

I'm not sure how the front spoiler could make that much of a difference.... but thanks for sharing.
It does. But I don't know why Nissan didn't put one on the Titans? Even on my cars I always put on some type of functional front lip. The feel is real noticable. Now that my Titan is up 3" I haven't had a chance to see how well it functions in said conditions.

I'm guessing they don't put it on the Titan because Nissan can advertise highest approach angle and ground clearance numbers, something people look at when buying a truck, but I agree it does add a nice touch.

Hello,
Where Did You Purchase The Armada Front Lip?
Also, How Did You Install It?
I Think I Might Get One Too. Because In The Highway, When I Let Go The Gas, The Truck Seem To Decelerate Very Fast, I Definetely Need More Aerodynamics.

Thanks

You can purchase at any local Nissan dealership or you can order online if you have no access to a dealership. There are some links on the main page of this forum that you can check out... Its a very inexpensive mod and well worth it IMO.

Toomnymods your frontend looks sweet:gunz: All Im missing is the billet grill haha

How much of a gas mileage improvement did you see?

The main thing I notice with the air dam is improved directional stability on the highway. Without it it seemed that the front tended to drift around in windy conditions. With the air dam it keeps its track. As for gas economy, there are too many variables in calculating gas mileage for the air dam to show any improvement. But for driveability, it is a recommended and inexpensive add on.

About how much for the Air Dam and paint materials? Is it an exact fit?

It is an exact fit and about $30 from the dealer. You would want to buy some stainless steel fasteners instead of the OEM bolt and clip pack. I paid about $100 to have the body shop paint it as I don't have painting equipment.

I agree with peoples findings that it helps the truck track better at highway speeds. Before I would sometimes have to fight my truck at freeway speeds when it was a little windy, now it runs straight and smooth. I think it helps a little with wind noise too, but that may just be my imagination. Damn good mod for those of us that don't go offroad.

I did pick up a bit on gas mileage. Almost an extra mile per gallon actually. But then again it also depends on wind factor. I averaged that with no wind.

I've had the Armada front lip on my Titan for a year now. I'm glad I did it. My highway mileage is higher than most I read about on TT, and I'm pretty sure the lip (and setting my cruise control at 70) has something to do with this.

I would recommend one thing when installing the lip though. Use bolts instead of screws. When you are laying on the ground fiddling around in areas where it can be hard to see, it's a lot easier to hold the wrench on the head of the bolt than it is to hold a screwdriver in the end of a screw. Overall its one of the easiest mods you can do to your Titan.

Another tip is to use a bolt in the middle and keep it loose. Then go to the ends by the fender well, align and secure the far ends of the air dam. Then work your way to the center. I didn't do this at first and found the side lines of the air dam not lining up with the sculpted lines of the fender well.

Good info guys, I picked up one from the dealer today for $35.50...will install it today.

I learned this the hard way when I put mine on too - good info!

I am off to go get one right now, my dealer has 1 in stock, does it come with fasteners or clips or is it a different part number for those?

There is a fastener set that is ordered separately, but is not enough for the whole air dam. Get yourself some stainless bolts (recommend hex head), nuts, and lock washers.
