after hacking up the original bezel.... found a 2008 RF unit with changer, face, and bezel on CL. Don't need the HU/changer or face so if anyone is looking for a replacement let me know. Not sure the Direction I wanted to go, but figured stock radio with maybe a tablet mount. The wife also wants me to sell the truck...so when complete, maybe for sale(center console).

Looks like I may have to use the rf head unit....

Stock 6cd problem
When I turn on truck, head unit goes into load CD automatically. If you put in a CD, it will go to #2, if not it just stops. Now, if I push either load or eject nothing happens. All other buttons work fine. Don't know what to do. Will try pull neg off for a bit to see of it resets or not. Any know fixes?

Thanks man.... Not that hard to work with, just gets messy when working with fiberglass mat, glass hairs everywhere!!! and the smell gets to you. When shaping, it picks up a lot of imperfections, so there is a lot of sanding and filling involved.

Probably wont get much done today as I am working a 12hr shift, but probably try finish bodywork tomorrow and then paint when I get the chance.

not much progress today...was day off but recovering from a hangover!!!

did some grinding to get tablet to sit and slide easily

making dinner now... will do some mud in a bit

Still undecided how I want to to the "tabs" to hold the tablet in on the sides

well....

more body work....found some joint cracks in the old finish. Fixed by filing down and used some CA glue. That stuff rocks!!! Cures in seconds. Bondo again. My fingers hurt

got some high build up here in the corner from my uneven cut, just tryin to fill.

hope to sand and primer soon...in about 1/2 hour.
just need to find the damn paint to color match. Guess I gotta to auto store tomorrow

first coat hi-build primer......damn lots of sanding to do.... didn't want to to a glaze/fine bondo layer and hope the hi-build is enough

it fills some, but not as good as a finishing/spot putty. Just didn't feel like going out and buying some, but may have to. I'll have to see one I sand the second coat.... its 12:30 here and about to go sleep. Hope I can get to it tomorrow night. Work a 12 hr shift again.

yeah.... they do have light filler available, but didn't want to spend more money :dunno: than I already did...lol. But depending on how well the filler primer works, which I think will suck arse, I will probably have to.

Thanks BBF. Just sucks that I gotta work so damn much. A two-three day job will probably take me 2 weeks to complete

round 2 for filler primer. Still have some pinholes I gotta try fill and sand out. Getting frustrated with this thing. Feel like just painting it, but I know that I will hate the result and end up doing it over again anyway. gonna take a break for a day and resume sunday

Round 3...

So I found a crack where the plastic didn't bond too well. Kinda hard to see in the picture

So bust out the CA glue and sand it down to plastic

and fill it back up....sand some more

off to prime again. Bought some metallic gray paint. Hope it matches

Well...I guess that there are a lot of weak points cause this crap keeps cracking..ugh!
Kinda fed up already... Gonna throw some paint on it

after a few coats, kinda screwed it up. Gonna have to sand down and redo but wanted to get a good picture of what it would look like. nevermind the pits where the tablet goes, gonna be covered up anyway

picture from this morning. not liking the paint. too glossy and I think it may be a little too dark. Off to find another shade of gray.

painting round 2:

Think that I found a paint color that almost matches the stock Nissan Titan bezel/trim

hard to tell from the pics, as the paint is drying but as close as it gets...gotta find a trim peace to match tho

about 4 coats in.... wish I had a garage to work in, its windy and messing up my paint job

now literally sitting, waiting for the paint to dry

#29 ·
still gotta dry, but its almost there... hopefully a light sanding, polishing???? if not, gotta go buy another can of paint

Still gotta test fit!!! hope everything still lines up

I'd say pretty damn close to stock color, used 4x4 switch cover for reference

here is the color used
