Someone gave a great tip on playing mp3 cds in our cd players, which enables us to put a lot of music on the discs and not having to hook up our ipods etc. As a techno idiot I was wondering if someone new how to convert the songs that are not mp3/mpeg on itunes from the other types(like aac)? Thanks

word of cuation however. If you have a mid-line or lower radio, they may not work. I have the mid-line 2004 and no mp3 cd's will play in my ride. Hence the XM commander and iPod. If you got a newer ride or one that says mp3 on the front you should be cool. Tons of mp3 ripping software out there.

AFAIK, iTunes will burn the songs to CD in any format you want. It will also convert any non-protected formats to MP3.

A good program for burning mp3 cd's is NERO burning rom. You can download a copy form limwire.com. I use this program for burning and maintaining my music files. Tip: in mp3 format a typical cd can hold over a hundred songs, this can be cumbersome to scroll through when trying to find a particular song. for ease of use, you can save each artist or genera in a folder. Most titan factory cd changers have the folder selection option. Makes finding songs easier.

Also BEWARE! I had my whole cd changer full of burned cd's and it just stoped one day! no radio/cd/sat! the dealer told me it was the burned cd's that caused the malfunction. it was replaced but now i only have a couple in at a time.

If you are trying to convert the aac files you purchased on itunes, you will run into protection issues. Those files are MPEG4 and I haven't found a program that will convert them unless you burn them to a disk using itunes and them rip them into mp3's. I have found a program named "tunebite" that will open and play a file on itunes will simutaneously dubbing the file into any format you want. Check it out.
