Last Friday we had some bad storms down here in FL and that night I went threw a decent size puddle i did not think it was too bad..but soon after my SES light came on and it was in limp mode the tranny was stuck in 4th. I pulled over and hooked up my uprev cable and pulled the codes and 1st it was 1759 and then 1759 for the Front Brake Solenoid Valve, Control Valve assembly Unit. I have searched on the boards and seen alot of people have had to replace the TCU which is 800+ I let the truck set for a few days and then I cleared the codes and then drove down the road and the SES came back on and its stuck in 4th agin..also sometimes when i start the truck the AT CHECK light will flash 3 or 4 times and then go off. And the BRAKE SLIP ABS light will blink on and off at the same time... do you think i shorted something or did the TCU just happen to go out when i hit the water is there anything elese i should check...would the TCU going out cause the BRAKE,SLIP,ABS lights to flash on and off...I checked all the fluids looked ok..now the truck does have 140k miles..any help or suggestions would be great...Thanks:bangit:

I wish I could help. I left my lights on and battery died. After I jumpstarted the 04 Titan it was automatically in limp mode. When I pulled the codes I got AT&T s/v fnctn
P1754 T/c solenoid function
P1764 d/c solenoid function

I checked every fuse, did an ecu reset and tested the ICBM.
To my dismay I am still in limp mode with the at check light on. This is a living hell. I have gone on every thread and can't find help.

I have a feeling that's the same direction that I'm headed... but from my preliminary searching, seems like the TCM (valve body) is trippin' and throwing the tranny into limp (slip) mode... I'm gonna check around to see if I can't find a functional used TCM (valve body) first...

hey i posted a while back on this issue. My 04 Titan had the exact same issues, same lights on dash. I took my truck to every trans shop around and all they wanted to do was sell me a used transmission. Tooling around on these forums i found a guy who specializes in this and he actually diagnosed my truck from a different state. To be sure of his diagnosis, he actually borrowed a titan and used it to re create how this happened. It turned out to be the solenoids. His cost to rebuild the re5 valve body was less than what i paid these local yocals to diagnose. Their diagnostics were the same results i acheived using my pocket scanner to make it worse. If u want this guys email let me know. He responded to my questions right away, is genuinly a good person, and within days was working on a repair.

We have found that nearly always P1757 and P1759 (and limp mode as a result) are signs that there is an electrical issue in the valve body. We always inspect EXternal wiring, but it seems that it invariably is INternal to the valve body. Even small amounts of moisture seem to make these valve bodies act up. Thankfully the transmission going into 'limp' mode generally prevents folks from destroying their transmission internals.

As part of replacing the valve body we flush the transmission and address Nissan's Radiator/Transmission Cooler boondoggle by a) bypassing the radiator-based cooler and use just the factory auxiliary cooler or b) (For folks who tow or haul) Bypass the radiator-based cooler and add an after-market trans cooler in addition to the factory auxiliary cooler.

I had front driver side axle and hub assembly replaced and my truck started going into limp mode shorty after. Those codes came up and I had my front brake solenoid replaced. Hasn't fixed it and I noticed the entire hard wire casing stuff is totally off of that harness coming out of tranny so all the wires inside it are exposed could that be the issue ? Or wheel sensor ?

Today ... I also blew through some serious standing water in a major storm and sure enough ....... several miles later I was in "limp-mode". I just wonder ... before I start to throw a bunch of money at this .... is there ANY chance that after the vehicle has had a chance to sit and dry out ... will the issue hopefully disappear ? ?
