this thing is a beast. A lot bigger than what I was imagining lol. It has 3 screws on it for installation, has anybody installed a tip like this? I was thinking about having a shop cut the black plastic part off with the screws and just welding it on instead, good or bad idea?

the shop I went to cut off the screw area and just welded it up, that way it couldnt get stolen I guess... No difference in performance

I had one off those for like 2yrs on the titan, but one day it came out while on the highway driving 70mph... I was freak out luckily I didnt kill or hit anybody..

I would get it weld if i get another one or check the screws at least ones a month

im rocking pilot as well as a few others. cut it and weld it so it doesn't loosen up.

Mine's welded on. Local muffler shop did it for 10 or 20 bucks. I can't remember which.

looks like an average chrome tip, no performance gain, will smooth out the sound of any exhaust tone and make it a little deeper.

Are all tips 'resonated'? I am probably going to get the Magnaflow 18" or 22" but want a resonated tip to smooth it out a little bit. I have heard that there is a tip called a "cannon" (can't remember the manu) that is supposed to be pretty good. Do they have to be bigger than th e tail pipe to resonate? I don't want my truck to look like a 16 yo HS kid did my exhaust. Magnaflow offers tips that I like the looks of but don't know if they will effect the sound.

what size tip did you go with, Jon?

no not all tips are resonated. if you want resonated you need to make sure it's specified.
are you talking about the Zoomers cannon tip? Cannon Exhaust Tip $$$!
if you don't want your exhaust tip to look funky then dump that biatch :eyebrow:
