So went and got the oil change done today and made the switch to full synthetic. Went to a shell rapid lube and had it done for 60 bucks, way on the expensive side but whatever let them worry about all the work. Got the Shell full synthetic. While we were up there paying the guy said its one hell of a truck and wishes he got that instead of his 07 Ram which he bought in 08. Said its got tons of power and felt great driving it for the little bit he did lol. So I thought that was kinda funny a Dodge owner liking the Titan so much. Then he mentioned our truck is in perfect condition except the Fuel injectors will need work soon? Whats up with that never heard of a car with 13k needing fuel injector work at 15k, hopefully someone can explain that to me. He said it was something about the gas we have around here but I couldnt really hear him. All in all good trip, was in and out quick, got a Dodge owner to spill his heart for the Titan lol. But whats all that fuel injector BS about? Oh and he didnt place a sticker on the window telling us the next time to get it changed, how long does full synthetic last?

Quick question. why did the jiffy lube guy drive your truck???:ftard:

I think he mistook the typically-noisy injectors our Titans have for "failing" injectors. I've never heard of anyone having injector issues with their Titan unless it was a fluke.

I go 6mo/6000 miles between changes with synthetic and I get it done by my favorite (Yet not local) Nissan dealer. As long as it's under warranty I have all regular maint done by the dealer and get my maint book stamped, if anything it helps resale to have the maint history and logbook filled out.

Thanks for letting me know the intervals, He printed out some sheet of paper to show my dealer incase some kind of warranty mess spills up. Ill just start going to the same guy from now on. Anyone getting differential services done at 15k? The little manual he gave me also mentioned that for 30 bucks.

Second quick question. Why is Jiffy Lube changing you oil? Scarrrrryyyy thoughts there.

Also, $60 is not bad. My AMSOIL change runs $90. Once a year or every 35,000 miles.

Going out to buy it, removing the skid plate cover, draining the oil, replacing oil filter, filling new oil. Then I gotta find somewhere to get rid of the oil, my parents are busy enough and not having to go out and find new to buy and then somewhere to get rid of the old fits alot better in their schedules.

O dayum.
Yeah your good on the diff unless you want to do it. though check your manual i'm not certain what interval it recommends.
If your a return customer to the lube shop and get to know the people you'll get treated right not all lube shops are hacks, the guys I used to work with were actually very meticulous.
I like to do my own oil though gives me time to poke around under the truck and whatnot.

M1 is 5-6 bucks a quart and a M1 filter is about 13 out here.... add the bazillion % tax and $50 is easy - the lube shops around here are quoting $70-90 for a synthetic oil change and it's NEVER M1....

I still can't believe people pay other people to change their oil!!!

^^^^What he said, although I look at it differently than probably most others. I don't even go over 3,000 miles before changing oil, and thats around 9 quarts of Mobil 1 0w-40. When I change oil, I take my time and inspect the undercarriage, check header bolts, traction bars, smoke a few cigs, have a beer, check other fluid levels, check pretty much the whole engine bay and clean valve covers, intake manifold, fuel rails, etc. etc.

I certainly don't look at it as something I don't have time for, but rather enjoy just being able to wrench on it myself.

On the other hand I'll admit the Altima doesn't get the same treatment :D

I would suggest 3-5,000 miles or 3-5 months depending on how much towing, excessive idling, racing, etc. you do. With the Titan I would usually change it before it hits 5,000 miles. You should be ok if you need to go 5k, but if doing allot of the activities I just stated, keep a good eye on your oil level and color and change accordingly.

..yeah sorry but it took me 20 minutes to do both the Titan and Bronco. The drain pan, I bought one huge one (can use it for coolant) and has a lid. Let it sit in the garage under the truck until you go to the auto part store. Takes 2 minutes to pur it all out and have it recycled. $23 for 7qt of 5w-10 penn oil. :)

COol though that another dodge man has been converted over. Now we gotta workon the ford guys...

I do my own so lets see... 6.5 qts of Mobil 1 5w-30 with a filter change

5 qt M1 jug/gallon...$25
2 qts of M1............$11 (only 1 if I have .5 left from the last oil change)
1 oil filter................$9

Total....................$45 bucks.....and only 15 minutes of my time so I know it's done RIGHT.

Oh, and the old oil gets dropped off at the nearest lube station at their bay door before they open.

JIFFY LUBE SUCKS C0CK

So you drove there without a license in a vehicle you dont own and you paid somebody from your extensive bank account that you dont have to change your oil that you cannot do in your parents garage......... sigh

i switched to the mobil 1030 the first month.. no change in sound or anything.

Im glad that theres dedicated owners out there that take such great care of their trucks. Trust me I baby mine and I HATE that I dont get to do my own maintenance anymore. But as with anything else in life you have to decide the things that come first. I spend somewhere around 250 days a year away from home with the air force. If I can spend $10 to give myself 15-20 extra minutes to spend with my family and friends, and the work is being done by a mechanic Ive known for years and trust and is extremely fair, then I'm happy to do it. If I ever get more time at home in the future, you better believe ill be working on that truck every weekend. Keep up the good work guys
