Okay, so I've done a search and read a few threads regarding rear bumper removal. I also took the time to look at the microfiche for bolt placement. Now, I just did a quick check under my truck and it looks like tow hitch is in the way of the bolts that I need to remove. Am I looking at the right bolts? All I want to do is remove the chrome part, is it necessary that the subframe that hold the bumper needs to be removed to?

Looking at the diagram, looks like it's 6 bolts?? listed as number 7. Am I looking at the right bolts?

Yep that's them. Remove the bumper cap and you will see the bolts. It will be easier to remove them with the bumper off the truck. Use a set of pliers to squeeze the cap clips and a long screwdriver between the cap and bumper to pry up on it, if you do not squeeze the clips they will break off.

Thanks for all of the info on the bumper replacement it really helped a lot. I just wanted to add some info about removing the rear backup sensors if your Titan is so equipped, because they are a little tricky and run $25 a pop for just the bracket. I used two people, but it could be done with one person. I first removed the bumper and then removed the rear backup sensors. The back up rear sensor brackets contain 2 clips on the rear that are easy to see and then contain 3 other clips that are close to the bumper that allow the bracket and sensor to stayed attached to the bumper. You will need a small flat head screw driver to pry up the 3 clips closest to the bumper. Start with the clips that have 2 clips on the back of the sensor and apply pressure gently and once you have those 2 clips done and the rear 2 clips stay up begin by prying up the 3rd clip closet to the bumper and apply gentle pressure on the sensor towards the backside of the bumper to remove the sensor. Lastly squeeze the clip in on the sensor bracket and gently push through the bumper towards the outside of the bumper and the bracket will slide out. Also on another note it is easier to remove the wiring harness first, then the 6 bolts that hold on the bumper, and finally remove the plastic trim pieces on the bumper with pliers on the plastic plugs and pull back plastic trim piece gently with your hand. Hope this helps as it was somewhat a learning experience for me, darn tree stump in the mountains! Good luck!

New to the Forum....found this thread very useful but wanted to know if there are any good step by step complete instructions as to how to remove and replace the rear bumper of a 2012 Titan Pro 4X? Never done it before and repair shop estimate is killing me!! Backed into my cargo trailer hitch:ftard:
Thanks for any help!

Sensor hole question. Are all the bumpers from model years that have the sensors the same or do some years differ??? I have a 2012 and I am looking at purchasing a used one and they clearly have it listed 06,07,08, but I have seen some like on Ebay that have a perfectly round hole for the sensor, and some that have a little reset notch so to speak. So would I have any issue with my sensors fitting into a older bumnper or are they all the same???
