i am startin to regret my choice on the king cab...the main reason i went with king over crew was the extra cost, but now i wish i had gone with the crew...the few extra k over the life of a 60 month loan might not have been too bad, compared to the regret i feel now :( anyone else feel this way? i know im just nitpicking lol, cuz its fine for me myself and i

I bought the crew cab and shortly after my brother in law bought the king cab. They are both XE models with identical sticker options - basic extras: 6 disc cd player, overhead console, mud flaps, bedliner. I found that when you get the crew cab you get power locks (w/remote entry) and power windows for free. I guess it's cheaper for them to make all the crew cabs the same. Mine also had the circuit breaker for trailer lights already installed where his didn't and it cost him $32.00. The weird thing is that you cannot get power locks or windows on an XE king cab even if you wanted it that way but if you get an XE crew cab you cannot get it without them.

I think was was about $3k more but well worth it for the room and the freebies you get with the XE model. I would like a bigger bed but I would not sacrifice the interior room for it. I have a trailer that I can use if I need more room.

I went through this when I bought my standard cab Tacoma. I love the truck, but talk about making a lot of compromises to save some money! It got to be a pain when going out with friends to always use their vehicles, etc.

I kept the Tacoma as my general use truck, but when I went truck shopping this time, 4 full doors was a requirement.

I actually blow both ways on it...I have a KC. I would have bought a CC if it didn't require me to purchase a sunroof and rear entertainment center along with the Navi which I wanted. Besides, I so rarely have someone behind me that it doesnt really matter I guess....but it would be nice y'know?

That being said, my personal opinion (please don't all get in a huff about it) is that the CC looks funny with the short bed. It doesn't look bad, just strange to me.

Now, CC + 6.5' bed = yummy.

Hows the legroom on the KC? is that why you want to change?
the leg room is ok, but i guess the backrest is a lil too rigid for long road trips...on a recent road trip, ppl didnt want to ride in the back on the return drive lol....also, i think the crew cabs also have that, what do you call em, the handle bar above the window where you can hang clothes and stuff? i dunno what theyre called lol but i think that is a lil thing that goes a long way towards rider comfort

I haul 2 bikes in the bed most weekends, so the KC was for me, but I do like the CC, and think it looks fine w/ the short bed.
If the CC had a 6.5 ft bed, I would have bought that instead.

I like the King Cab, and it actually has a large amount of room. My only complaint is that the center part of my bench seat is not connected to the passenger seat, which means when the front passenger scoots forward, the middle seat still sets back in the way of the rear passenger's knees.

I wish i could permenantly move it forward, since few people actually sit in the middle. Best solution: make it part of the front passenger seat, on the same rails.

The backseat of the KC is basically bolt-upright. I can't get comfortable back there, but I'm 6'3" 205. That said, I prefer greatly the looks of the KC vs. the CC, and quite frankly I've hauled stuff in the bed more than I've carried passengers in the backseat, some of which wouldn't be possible with the shorter bed. Sure I give up the power locks/windows and rear-seat space with a KC, but I'll give that up for the bigger bed and better looks....besides, it's a freakin' truck, rear passengers shouldn't even be an option.

Before this truck I had a GMC ext. cab, and almost bought a Chevy ext. cab before I looked at the Titans. One test drive in my crew cab, and I knew that no matter what truck I bought it was going to be a crew cab. I'm single and hardly ever have any passengers ride in the back. However after a couple three day long pheasant hunting trips to South Dakota, I have no regrets about getting the crew cab. Fold the back seats up and the storage room is awesome. I fish a lot of walleye tourneys and will be towing a boat, so bed space wasn't as important as interior room for packing stuff. If a person doesn't need the bigger bed, I would def. recommend the crew cab.

Sordid, I had a GMC ext cab before buying my first Titan, an LE KC 4x4. I traded it in last week for an 05 CrewCab and am good with the decision. For me, the bed needs to be big enough to haul a stove, washer/dryer, 4x8 sheet of plywood etc, all of which I can do with the 6' (or close to it) bed on the CC. I do use the back seat to haul things like groceries or luggage on a trip. It's really nice to be able to open a rear door and flip up one of the seats and load your stuff. I'm amazed at how much room the back seat of this thing has! One other thing that I noticed immediately between the two cabs, the doors close very differently. The crew cab's doors have a very solid sound when they lock. The KC's don't sound the same because they rely on the rigidity of the rear suicide doors as a latching component. Both are great trucks, how can you go wrong ;)

KC Rocks!!!

I don't have rear passengers but need bed storage room...so the SE KC with split bench was the only choice for me..with the money I saved over a CC I got a longer bed, ARE Z shell and have dry storage.
No complaints with the layout...well.the heater could use a small microvent located above feet like my last truck had plus the side heat.

KC was not an option. With our 1 year old little girl I wanted to have the ability to haul a trailer and at the same time be able to fit a car seat comfortably. Love the space in the back seat. You can have a party back there without disturbing the riders in the front!!! :jester:

Everyone's situation is different, my 14 year old son has grown a couple more inches since I purchased my truck in March. He's now 6' 2" and I don't think he's done growing, so I'm glad I went with the crew. Since my truck is in the repair shop now, I have an F150 extended cab as a rental. I crammed 4 people into it yesterday, but it wasn't comfortable.

I have the CC and love it but at times I wish I had the KC. I would like a slide-in camper but it is not recommended with the CC. I have a truck box in my CC and it takes up a lot of room. If I had the KC I would have more room for the box.

It all depends on what you intend to use your truck for.
If your going to use your truck to haul people more than you will to haul gear in the back I could see why you would need a C/C. My last truck was a Tacoma Double cab, I didn't think I would miss having a regular size bed......but I did, that is why I went with the K/C this time.
99% of the time I am the only person in my truck, if we {me, wife and son} go anywhere we always take the wife's vehicle.

I have the KC and love it! My only complaint about the truck is when you have a passenger in the rear seat and they want to get out, you have to open your door, take off your seat belt and then close your door again. Besides that, the titan is a awsome truck and i love it!

I'm not quite sure why those of you who got the Titan for family hauling purposes didn't just get an Armada....but that's America for ya.
The CC gives much more versatility than an Armada, (if you only have 4 to 5 passengers as a requirement).

In a Titan you can carry tall things in the bed, like a refrigerator, or smelly things like manure, or even the dreaded Black Widow infested yard junk to the dump. I wouldn't want any of these in my Armada if I had one.

With the CC it's like a SUV and pu in one. Tall kids and adult passengers love it, and the split 33/66 rear seat folds for either zero passengers, 1 passenger, 2 passengers, or all three. Lots of options. Grocery bag hooks on the bottom of each section too.

But the KC rules in the looks department, and if my kids were younger, or didn't run the potential to be 6 footers within the next 3 years, I would be driving a KC.

I use my truck for work and the longer bed is a necessity. I feel I still have a lot of room in the cab but I can see how the upright seats would be uncomfortable on long drives.

Even though I use the SUV for long trips, I still went with the CC just for the looks, and comfort. This is my first truck and I have no use for the long bed so CC was perfect. I remember dwelling on which bed cover to buy and my wife said: "With all that room in the back and the flip up seats, who needs a bed cover, I can put things inside and lock it up!". I guess she's got a point.
