I have searched for this and seen coversations on it but im still unsure about what it really is, how do you remove it, what happens when you remove it...

I know what wide open throttle is and im assuming that our T's have a restriction for it, but when? Like when you floor it from a stop?
Also, how can it be removed? Are there any negatives? Is it different from year to year?

Sorry if this has been covered but i have searched and didnt find a specific thread outlining this restriction and how to remove it... Maybe this thread can be it.

Thanks everyone in advance!

I'm a novice on this topic but from my limited reading on this forum, I believe you need one of the programming systems such as UpRev or similar. I don't believe it is possible to remove the WOT restriction otherwise but if I'm wrong about this, I'm all ears with the same question.

Basic of it,
WOT* Restriction - The throttle does not fully open till your Titan get to about 40 mph for 2WD (4x4 have a little lower mph restriction).
With this restriction removed you'll have full throttle the instance you smashed the gas pedal.
It's written into the ROM (in ECU) so the only way to remove it is via one of the handheld programmer or UpRev.
Side note, the Armada does not have this restriction from factory, probably due to their heavier rear end.

*Wide open throttle aka full throttle.

Honest question, how do you know that?? I've always heard that 40MPH was the rule of thumb, but 4x4's may be different. This is the first that I have heard of an actual lower number specifically.

My 4wd is wide open at around 12 mph +/- 1 mph, according to Cipher.

If you have a 2WD Titan just removing the WOT restriction makes a big difference. If you also tune your Titan it's like driving a different truck.

yes i have a 2010 2WD CC. Well i definitely want to get the WOT restriction removed ASAP. If i were to get a BDGT, does it just automatically remove it as soon as you plug it in?

and with the BDGT i can still get mods after like exhaust and intake and wont have to retune or anything right?

I bought my BDGT from autoanything.com. Search around for one of their 15% coupon codes, and you can easily get it for under $300.

I have a 2010 2wd CC as well. I bought a superchips cortex last week and the change is awesome. I am running heavy azz 34" toyo mts which made my truck feel like I was hauling a load of bricks. I put the cortex on with the 87 tune, not even the performance tune, and it made my truck drive better than it did stock. I can't wait to check out the 93 performance tune. You can pick up a tuner cheap in the buy/sell section. I think there's a few superchips on there now I'd you go back a few days. Best Bang for the buck IMO.
