Has anyone else been having a problem with rust on there in bed toolbox? I know rust always comes back until you cut it out but mine is getting ridiculous. I fixed it once last fall for it to bubble through my bedlined after 1 week! So yesterday me and my dad went through and removed as much as we could and used an anti rust coating then bondo with the fiberglass strands and regular bondo on top. If it comes back what would be my best option? A new bed without the toolbox or 600 dollars to get it cut out and fixed that way. I need good trade in value for next spring.

I would second the POR-15. The stuff is crazy. It's the Lance Armstrong of the paint world.

I don't know how well bedliner would work on top of it though.

Update.... Well after one day of use and it raining all day one rust bubble is coming through the bed liner..... Does anyone know where I can get a used bed off a titan(crew cab).
That may be from the first stuff you applied. Does it have a cure period before you can paint?

Either way, try the POR 15 first. If it comes down to a new bed, maybe just try some local junkyards or get fiberglass bedsides.

X2 on the ospho^^^ good stuff and it chemically "kills" the rust.

Some of those rust treatments actually say they are not for automotive use. I've used the Rustoleum Rust Reformer on my '91 Ranger. I covered the entire frame and suspension with that stuff. I would say that 95% of it is still in place. I let it cure for a week and then painted it with an enamel. Rustoleum is one that says it is not for automotive use. Go figure. If I was really serious about it I would be using POR-15.

I have small surface rust around my toolbox too. But I think it is from rocks hitting and chipping the paint. I should have put some Clear Bra on those spots when my Titan was new.
