Today, I dropped my truck off at the hand car wash and left it there while I went to the mall. When I came back, the owner came with a police report in hand and said we had an accident. Of course I looked at the Titan, and my heart dropped. After my truck had been washed, it was parked to the side and some teenage girl was trying to leave and backed into me. She waited until I got back because she felt bad. I know it was an accident but she looked at me and told me that she didnt even see it. I could barely contain myself. Some little careless teenager who just got a license dented my front bumper up, and scratched and dented the bumper up. I just got my truck in August of 06', but she backed into my baby! Sorry guys I just had to vent.

I'm here to make you feel better.... today I was sitting at an off ramp and got rear-ended from a guy going about 20.... not enough to hurt me too bad... just a stiff back and neck....

My truck on the other hand is going to need a bit of help. I was impressed with how well it held up. I was actually on my way to pick up a travel trailer and made the trip after ensuring the receiver was still firmly attached.

Anyway, I'll post some pics in a bit but it could always be worse.... in fact, that is what I spent most of the day thinking is how lucky I was that the guy had slowed down to 20....

Just a little FYI in case ya didn't know, the front bumper is plastic, so all you have to do if its dented is get behind it, and start pushing the dent out from the inside. Start at the edges of the dent and gradually work your way in. The titan bumper is sprayed with a special film that allows for the front bumper to flex without cracking the paint. If there is paint on ur bumper from the car hitting u, you can take some grease lighting (degreaser) and spray it on it, and wait about 3 seconds and wipe/wash it off, and it will come right off. Lastly, any scratches that you cant feel with your fingernails can be buffed out. Donno if u'd like to try to help out the wallets of the parents of the teenager but just wanted to put my lil bit of info in.

I don't know about you, but I literally get white knuckles over the mere thought of some minimum wage flunky climbing all over my truck with a dirty towel.

You probably should've waited until the truck was done before you went into the mall. I'd never leave my truck at a car wash place and then go shopping.

If the paint isn't chipped, take it to local PDR place and see if they can remove the dents. Some paintless dent repair shops specialize in flexible bumper dent removal.

Kids are just a statistic. Odds are great that teenagers who just get their license will be in an accident. So logically there are people on the receiving end... sorry you are one of them. I feel your pain. Good luck in getting it fixed.

There are very few people with enough integrity to admit they were wrong especially when it deals with expensive vehicles. I know your mad, but imagine if she bolted. I've had that happen twice in the last three years. Damage to my vehicle and no one to take responsibility. Just me stuck with the bill :grunge:
