Ok so ill keep this short i have an 08 se kc 4x4 just turned 30 thousand miles and my mpg has dropped to 13 mixed city and hwy i dont have a heavy foot and the only think i have changed is i run synthetic now and the dealer put a different airfilter in it could that have done it??? any ideas on how to remeady this... thank yall for the help its killing my pocket book!!

Do you have the stock tires still? If you went with bigger or heavier tires that could do it. Your truck is identical to mine other than color and I average about 15mpg mixed.

I wish I got 13mpg lol

As others have stated, it's a V8 truck.

I'll take it one step farther, if you drive 1,000 miles every month, on average, then the difference between 13mpg and 15mpg is a whopping $25 or so per month (Or $6 per fill-up).

If that extra little bit of money is pushing you over the edge then I'd say you need to re-evaluate your financial situation or get a different vehicle.

On the other hand, if you do like I did and drove 3,000 miles in one month while towing a trailer then it really hurts, especially when you consider the difference between 9mpg towing with the Titan and 15mpg towing with a diesel truck adds up to an entire truck payment. I could almost argue the fuel cost savings is like having a free truck. ;)

I have a Pro4x CC I hope for 15mpg. The best thing you can do is sell it and get a car. You can try to get long tube headers and free flow cats and exhaust and a tune with uprev get smaller tires that will all help...

Still have the stock tires its not really killing me just really currious why all of a sudden after the airfilter change it went from 15 to 13 thanks guys!!! and thats a good point about the cost diffenece.. dont get me wrong i dont care if i get 6 miles to the gallon i love my T but i have a 95 454 ss truck that gets 12 with twice the hp and tq so just wondering if everyone else is in the same boat.

The stories always go... "Because of the winter gas............".

I do know where you're coming from, my previous Fronty went from 18 mpg to 13 after a trip to the dealer, and of course they could not find out what was wrong. So it's not so much a money thing as it is the point of the matter.

That being said my right foot is quite, I mean quite heavy, so I'm usually only getting 11-13 mpg, a lot of hgwy. And now with the snow and the 4x4 in the North East, *****-about-it!!!

I'm averaging 10-15mpg... I will be lucky to get 250miles out of a tank unless it's all highway, then around 350 per tank... I had a pathfinder before this truck, didn't even think about gas mileage when I bought it because I needed a truck.

In response to your question though, who knows what the dealership could have done... I went there to get an oil change and left with a leaky transmission line. Went to a local mechanic, and he said the transmission line was loose when Nissan told me it was worn, and needed replacement. All he did was tighten it, and it was fine... Needless to say, I don't go to Nissan anymore...

I am averaging 10 now on the highway lol

Are you using ethonal? When I accidentally put this crud in I get around 14.5. Usually I get 16.5 on the city and I squeeze out close to 20 on the highway cruising 75.

Wish you luck. I've had 3 T's. 04 2wd, 06 4wd, 08 2wd, and all got/get around 16.5 and 20.

My truck hates this cold weather we're getting...it's started squeaking at me

I get 14.6 in the city and 14.7 on the highway. Well actually I haven't done the mileage on the highway in a long time, 330 miles I put in 19 gallons everytime. But my city is a constant 14.6. Bone stock with a K&N drop in. My wife with her CC gets over 16 in the city.

Mine doesn't like waking up in the morning either... lol

If you do the math and spend $2000 on those mods to save gas just to get a 3mpg gain (Roughly 0.01 gallon per mile decrease), at $2.75/gal it would take you 727 gallons or 72,000 miles just to break even. Spending money to save gas rarely makes financial sense.
