im wondering if anyone has painted the tailgate bib and wiper cowl the same colour as the truck? i have a galaxy black and was thinking about taking it to the body shop and getting them to do it. will it hold up? and look good? since we have the problem of it fading on our T's. Pictures would be awesome too!!

I got some pictures here, about 2.5 years and not a single rock chip so yeah it will hold up if done right.
Air dam/wiper cowl painted.
That looks awesome. Its amazing how painting that one small strip on the wiper cowl changes the look up top. I got some dings my buddy is gonna fix this spring at his body shop and i think that may get painted as well.

That looks sweet painted! Ive never thought of that. Mine is still the black plastic and I just use "back to black" to make it look some what decent, it looks good until the truck gets washed.

That does look friggin sweet. Did you paint if yourself or have someone do it? Is that a complete Armada bumper or can you get the that front lip by itself?

a bunch of guys have painted theirs. Blackbeauty, and 08blizzard come to mind. the front lip it from an armada, and can be purchased separate.

I painted the wiper cowl & front air damb on mine. I liked it so much that I moved it from my 06 to my 2010. I dont have any pice on the putor.

Yup... Mine's done... I love it... Galaxy Black, too... You won't regret doing it. It's what it should have looked like from the factory!

I almost forgot about that thread BB. One of my favorite's you've done. I think the colormatched cowl looks sweet on black and darker colors. Still hasn't grown on me with the lighter colors... May change once I see a couple in person.

How have the colormatched mudguards held up? Did they paint the side facing the tire or just tape it off? Some close up photos would be awesome. :) That way I can just go to my bodyshop and say, "paint it like this." LOL

Thinking about getting mine done along with the airdam for a cleaner look...

The mudflaps were painted all around... They have held up a LOT better than I thought they would.... I figured they'd get sandblasted and peel in no time... NOT SO! They are in about the same condition as most who have painted the front airdams on their trucks - a few pits and a few minor chips, but you can't really see them. You can feel them a bit if you run your hand over the flaps on the tire side, but otherwise, you can't even notice! I am very pleased with the way they came out... I'll try to get some pics once it warms up enough to wash BB.

You can buy color-matching paint for our trucks in a rattle can... I got some Galaxy Black and ended up selling it to another member when it was decided that the body shop would spray the flaps and cowl for me....

Mine was professionally done by the same perfectionist that painted the rest of the truck. So I must take myself out of the competition... It's smooth and clean as a baby's butt... seriously. Now, there's a lot of sanding involved if you're doing it yourself, but you're best to use a leveling epoxy primer to fill in the minor imperfections and such. That will help smooth it out for paint as well.

here is mine.. i painted it myself with dupont 2 stage paint. lay down 2 coats of bulldog, wet sand, and then your 2 stage paint. i put on 6 coats of paint and wet sanded between each.
