The time is coming to where I need to bite the bullet and purchase some new tires. Since I bedlined my stock wheels, I've decided that I want to stick with them. I'm currently running a 285/70/17 BFG A/T, but I really want a wider tire. Can I run a 305 or 315? I'm not exactly clear as to how wide the stock offroad rims are. I just don't know how wide I can run before I start running into a rubbing issue with the inside of the tire. I'm pretty sure if the tire is too wide for the rim, it would probably feel mushy (lack of a better term) in high speed corners. I'm not opposed to using an adapter/spacer if required.

My current setup is a RC level kit, which brought my front end up a full three inches.

I forgot to include that I would be doing the PWM as well..

I've heard of TT members running 305's & 315's, but i believe you should at least a 9" rim for tires that wide. Just doesn't look right being all ballooned out on the sidewalls in my opinion.

*Example
I run 305's on 9.5" rims.

Thanks for the information. Any idea how wide a stock Offraod rim is, 8"?

The off road wheels are 17 x 7.5 not 8

people (ostaf) run 35/12.5's on their stock 17" wheels. :)

You will be fine with 305s I ran 325s on my 18 by 8 stock wheels and it's only a half inch wider rim. Plus 305s would fill your wheel well good and should not cause any issues turning or rubbing

I ran a 305/70R17 set and a 35/12.50R17 CORR spec Kumho set on my old Titan's stock OR wheels with no issues. Even wheeled with them aired down.

Fox Delta must have set the record ... Toyo M/T 37X13.50R17LT Spec sheet states 37x14.6 on an 11" so they pull in to somewhere around 13" on the OR 7.5" rims. The spec sheet also states that an 8.5" width is the minimum, so a 7.5" width isn't too crazy.

They looked good, I saw them on a snow run we did a couple of years back, and he's off roaded with them too. There are pics on here somewhere of them on the Rubicon. ... found them http://www.titantalk.com/forums/titan-general-discussion/100358-titan-rubicon-yep-pics.html

Thread with good pics of the rim/tire combination. http://www.titantalk.com/forums/titan-wheels-tires-brakes/90218-new-shoes-37s-no-bl.html#post1643049
