I have a 2004 with nav and can't determine which Ipod adapter will work. I don't have a "SAT" button, but the manual references pushing the RADIO button to switch between AM/FM/SAT but I only get AM/FM. The OEM adapters come in SAT and no SAT, is this my only option? Would the iSimple ISNI571 work? Some sellers say it will work with 2004 and some don't. Who has a 2004 and an adapter?

For radio without the SAT button it is correct that you use the RADIO button. You will not get the SAT option till you actually have the SAT radio connected.
If you don't have the actual SAT unit hook up, choose no SAT. The actual iPod adapter is the same no matter what, it's the harness that's different depending on your option.

I'm pretty sure some aftermarket adapter work. I've seen them advertise to work, how well it work or how bad I don't know.
The OEM only charge the earlier iPod/iPhone. When Apple change from the 12v to a 5v it stop charging.

I guess I'll just have to give it a shot and hope for the best. I tried searching but there are not many discussions on ipod adapters, which I find surprising. From the threads I found it seems most people are satisfied with the AUX input.

Yes I saw that. I tried different variations of Titans on the choose your vehicle feature on the Crutchfield website and interestingly, the only option that was rejected was factory navigation. I tried different model years, RF and non-RF and Nav and non-Nav and all were compatible except Nav models. This confused me even more because the Nissan adapter is the same for Nav and non-Nav.

I have the PAC adaptor. It works but its flackly. Sometimes the radio doesn't see the iPod or Sat. Also steering wheel controls won't change tracks on the iPod. If you use them it will switch you to a radio preset. I don't know if the OEM is any better.

However the PAC is better than nothing.

So does that mean the aftermarket adapters will work? I would prefer an aftermarket unit because they are cheaper and apparently the OEM one doesn't charge iPhones.

I have the OEM unit and it charges my iPod. It does not charge an iPod Touch though.

What year and radio do you have? The performance doesn't sound great for $100-150, I can spend $20 on a combination charger/aux cable for the aux input and get the same thing.

It will charge the older generation iPod. Not sure which generation Apple changed it but they went from a 12v to a 5v or something like that. That's why newer iPod Touch is not charging

Update, I ordered the PAC and it works fine. When I contacted PAC they said NAV should not matter. I asked Crutchfield if they know why their website says the adapters won't fit a NAV Titan and they said they dont actually test products, they use manufacturer info. Anyway, I ordered this iSimple iPod Adapter for Nissan Add iPod control and an auxiliary input to factory radio in select 2004-up Nissan/Infiniti vehicles at Crutchfield.com and it works in my truck.

Read your OEM manual, it says that to change tracks with the steering wheel controls you need to hold down the button for 1.5 secconds. When I hit the button quickly I have the same issue, it changes presets, but when I hold the button down it will change the song on the iPod. Also, you may need to move the 3rd dip switch on the PAC to "on".

Holy crap I feel dumb. Tech support couldn't help with it when I put it in. I just went to the shop. Pulled the gear shift bezel so I could get to it and flopped dip switch 3, actually held the button fo 1.5 second and acted 2.5 years it works. Lol
I had read some else say it wouldn't work and I guess I just believed it and didn't spend any time on it which isn't like me.. Thanks

Better late than never. I guess it's because we are technically using the SAT input and people prefer changing presets over seek, but I had a PAC unit in an Acura that connected the same way through SAT and the steering wheel control worked fine for changing tracks and when I used SAT it would change presets.

Yea I Don't know how I missed it. I am usually pretty good about sticking with something untill I figure it out, I think I had read somewhere it wouldn't work and I fell for it.. That was the biggest reason I didn't use it much.. And the radio doesn't recognize it or the Sirus a lot.

How is the sound quality with this compared to the AUX output? The only reason I would buy one is because I like listening to pandora in the truck but hate how quite it plays and how much quality you lose because the AUX output is crappy
