first off, i'm not bashing or judging anyone's choices or taste, that's not what this post is about. i'm hoping someone can explain the whole monster energy drink logo craze thing to me. why are people putting this logo all over everything? on vehicles, atvs, snowmobiles, motorcycles etc. etc.

and why monster? is it the design of the logo? the color?

maybe i'm getting old or something, i don't know. i simply don't understand it.

Monster has been driving bad@ss customized trucks around for several years now, with hot chicks hanging all over it, promoting the drinks. It could have something to do with that, and...^ free stickers. Lol

People feel the need to be one of the "cool kids" or keep up with the Jones's or whatever the new fad nowadays might be.

The monster thing is dumb. Free stickers = free advertising for the company. Monster is laughing all the way to the bank with this free advertising.

I don't know about the rest of you, but if I put a monster sticker on my truck they should pay me for that.

I usually see it associated with the tapout stickers and those stupid flat billed hats worn off to the side.

In the past it was DC and Fox stickers

Have to agree with that. If I'm slapping stickers on my truck, I want it to be stickers of components I put on it. If I'm doing logos and such, I want it to be MY logo

It's like people who get NFL team logos tattooed.. Sure.. If I owned the team!
Lots of Broncos tats out here..idiots...Even if I didn't hate the Denver Donkeys... I'm an ink junkie, don't see me with an eagle or a half-round lightning bolt!

But that's a whole other rant.. if slightly similar.

The race trucks/cars etc have the logos for products on there as sponsors.. which means: They pay for them to be there as advertising. If Monster wanted to sponsor my personal Titan build, Sure.. I'd sport the logo! Though i'd rather do a Steel Reserve scheme...lol. Other than that.. WTF?

I enjoy their Absolute Zero drink and have one every morning. That being said, I would still never put their sticker on anything (maybe a toolbox? :dunno:) Kids will be kids (like putting baseball cards in the spokes of your bicycle tires)...

I love me some starbucks along with every other coffee drinker in the world but I guess that logo is not "cool" enough like the Monster one...same concept though if you really think about it ..... I have an FSU sticker because thats my team and a grenade sticker (skeleton hand shaped like a grenade) and I didn't use the tip of the pinkie since I cut mine off..more of a inside joke but thats all for me...

Dunno about monsters, but I put a "Zombie assault vehicle" sticker on my truck.

I suppose Zombies are monsters, but not all monsters are Zombies.

Maybe those monster folks are just prepared for the worst...I'm more optimistic.

I won't even put stickers on my truck for parts that are on the truck. They all go on my toolbox.

I look at it the same as most folks. If I put your logo on my truck, you're gonna pay me for it.

^^ that's pretty funny right there

so it appears i'm not the only who doesn't understand. i thought i was alone here..

Yeah, I rarely sticker my vehicles. Though I do plan in putting my "I love Drilling" sticker on my headache rack when I get it. And generally, I sticker up my hard hats pretty good. The inside doors of my cargo trailer sport about a dozen brewery stickers.

I won't even rock an Eagle Well Service sticker in my window for my boss.. and that sort of IS my sponsor, since the company pays me a day-rate for using my T for work, and gas for work goes on the company credit card. I track mileage religiously, because I spring for fuel when I'm playing or traveling ..any personal use.

Helpful, because my wife rolls a suburban with the 496cui vortec..lol

she has one sticker on hers, "Mesa County Lost and Found" with a picture of a dog and a cat.. because she's a very active member of the group, and having that sticker helps when she's out scouring for lost pets, or chasing spotted loose animals ( the last one was actually a calf wandering the backroads by a subdivision..lol)

I get the reasoning of wanting to be 'part of something' , but just by logo-ing up..especially PAYING to logo up... you're not a part, you're just riding the latest trend.

I put the dealer frames back on my Sentra for when I took it into the local outfit for warranty service - "Oh, we didn't sell you that car?" 'No, you guys wanted SIX GRAND MORE for this same car than these other people and wouldn't come down.'
So there is SOME good in them...

by that logic, I should be rocking generic Ibuprofen and Tums stickers..
Hey, I'm an Aleve guy myself, thanks to years spent in rough jobs and doing things like falling off perfectly good telephone poles...

When I was that age my main goal was not to look like every other asshole out there and to be an individual. That isn't for everyone and some people have no original thoughts.

I bought a Titan in '04, I have no need to fit in. :)
Fixed it for you!

Yep, I won't own somebody's ball cap with a logo on it if I have to pay for it. That said, I do have an NBC Sports cap, a couple from golf shoots that say CREW and one from the local ABC affiliate; got all of them for free by being on the crews - they were required on-location...

DANG, I'm NOT the only cranky old fart on here! Wow, good to have some company!

No.. Out here, you'd have to get a cummins, hack holes in the front of the bed, and route 5"-8" pipes through it for stacks..and constantly blow coals just to prove that you're not stock.. rather than actually tuning it to burn the majority of the fuel you're sending through the motor.
Don't forget the huge lift, same rims, various colored, giant testicles hanging from the never-used hitch... oh..and never..NEVER take it off road.. you just have the truck cause girls like it.

its like "salt life" half of the people who have that on their car, dont fish or dont even drive on the beach, ive seen it on a Mazda 3 yesterday and i just laughed at the kid! as for the monster logo... ill admit, ive got one on my truck, i got it for FREE from my buddys bar and slapped it on my rear window because i drink it like its going out of style and im a huge Ken Block Fan

#29 ·
The same with the sheer amount of "So-Cal" window stickers... here in western Colorado.. sported mostly by people who've never been west of Salt Lake City.

What about the dorks that sport the TitanTalk stickers? Who do they think they are? Buncha lame posers.

I would slap the sticker on since I think the drinks taste good but that's about it. I only have 2 stickers on my truck both are companies owned by personal friends of mine so I don't mind advertising for them. some might think that's being overly generous I honestly don't care. if theres a "greater" or other hidden meaning behind the green M it beats me, maybe im getting old too

#36 ·
That's not being overly generous, That's supporting the people that mean something to you. Whole different ball game. The main reason I won't sport a company logo is so that if I feel the need to RIP UP a dirt road after a day of work to blow off some steam.. My boss doesn't get called up about it... Makes me as incognito as possible... Cause, you know, there's 100 other smoke titans with red calipers, toolboxes and big antennas- sporting chrome, triple driving lights, LED strips, and LED strobes on the grill roaming the oilfields of the area

I keep telling myself it keeps me under the radar...lol
