2016 Nissan Titan XD arrives with diesel V8 power

ive gone back and looked at pics of it everyday. at first i didnt really like it. the interior i really liked right off. the more ive looked at it, it has really grown on me. the yellow pro4x looks really good to me. just a bigger set of tires and good to go. the only thing i really hate is that damn fender emblem but whatever, i also am not a huge fan of the column shift but atleast they didnt put in a stupid knob...

overall its growing on my more and more and cant wait to see some more pics/tests of it in the future.

This may be one of those vehicles that just doesn't photograph well. I need to see it in person before I pass judgement. But, based on the information we have, I'll pass. Still love my 1st Generation!

I've been looking at the design since it was revealed here, and like others, I'm just not excited with the shapes in the front and the back. There's no strong line to tie them together, so the shapes look like they're just 'stuck on'.

Being a type who attempts to be part of the solution rather than b!tch about the problem, I did some imagining with PhotoShop and I think this looks a LOT better.

Hey Nissan, not too late to re-tool those body dies...!

I'll take as payment for my design work, the first XD diesel in the area. (Any configuration you want to supply; I'm not fussy.)

EDIT: Also fixed the grille so it doesn't look so out of proportion.
That's pretty dang well done, Steam.

I must say that when I first saw the pictures of it, I was not liking it, but it has grown on me over these past few days. It needs some minor changes that everyone is pointing out, but I am liking it. Now the question is how long will it take for aftermarket parts to come out? hehe. I would love to see one with a tune and straight pipe. That is when I would buy one.

This video by TFL Truck is an interview with the main Rich guy from the Truckumentary videos. Mostly the same marketing propaganda we've already heard, but with some good camera shots and one very interesting thing.

At the end, he makes it sound like across the Titan line the bed length will be dictated by cab type. In other words, you can only get an 8' bed with the single cab, a 6.5' bed with regular King Cab or XD Crew and a 5.5' bed for the regular Titan Crew Cab.

Is that the way everyone else is understanding his comments?

He did say 6.5 on XD crew as well. Which I think is what is at the show. Great video. Thanks for posting

What's up with no power folding mirrors??? That's a failure

The tow mirrors have never been power folding. I was kind of hoping they would have fixed that, but I bet that would be expensive.

I'm with ya on expensive but man, that's one option worth paying for iMHO
I'd use that waaaaaay more than vdc off for example......

I've used my diff lock twice
I'd use motorized folding mirrors two to three times every day......

Hopefully Nissan is reading these discussions

I've broken my passenger tow mirror coming out of the garage as many times as you've used your differential lock. I hear ya. At one point I considered going to the power folding mirrors. But the visibility provided by the tow mirrors just can't be beat.

Absolutely agree.
We need BIG tow mirrors for towing
And they need to be power folding
Like the Ford F-250 tow mirrors
Those little folding mirrors do me little good

The Ford trucks have had Power folding tow mirrors for yrs now.
Wonder what Axle Ratio they are going with?
I still say they dropped the ball by not giving it a 12,500# tow rating so they could claim the top spot.

the 12,000 tow rating is not set in stone. It has an asterisk next to it almost everywhere it is mentioned. Betting it is a conservative round number so the competition doesn't up their ratings just as it is released. Key phase that also appears in much of the press releases as well "preproduction model". Meaning there is still design flexibilty on a good many things.

ive read/watched a few interviews talking about the tow rating and the answer is always "12,000 or more" with an emphasis on the "or more"
