10 second way to make your horn louder

Last night my buddy with a Tundra came over and while we were working on his truck, we noticed that there are little plastic covers that baffle his horns. I checked the T and noticed that we also have little plastic baffles that just clip on. I took a long screwdriver and just clicked off the two tabs on each horn. A lot louder now and sounds like a truck horn should.

Sorry guys, but after I took them off last night, they went straight into the trash. Basically, you take the long screw driver, look down between the radiator and the grill (passenger side of truck) and there are 2 tabs holding the baffle onto the horn. I will go look to see if the baffles are still on top of the trash. If not, I am not digging through the dog poop bags, so someone else is going to have to take some pictures on my behalf.

Gotta check mine, but is it possible Nissan saved these "baffles" for only the 2010s?

Okay. Since I started the thread, I went and dug them out of the trash. These snapped onto the end of the horns. Must be on the 2010s since it doesn't appear that anyone else has them.

I bet they put them on 10+ models because the dB level was "too high" and they didn't want to make other drivers go def or something :bangit:

Kind of like how 06+ models don't have cam bolts

Shucks, an easy and affordable Mod, I can't do! :(

John,

I'm sure you could trade horns with someone who has a 10 and then pop the bafles off yourself if it makes you feel better

I think they make louder horns that you can buy and just plug in. Maybe 10 minutes instead of 10 seconds though.

Any one put a Locomotive horn on yet?

Checked under the hood... sure enough my horn had these covers. Removed them in less than 6 seconds, quickest mod I have ever done! I know my 2005 T didn't have them, I question the purpose?? Unsure though if the horns are any louder. Thanks 2010 titan.
