Another delay in the new redesign?

An interesting read. I figured that Nissan would probably introduce the new Titan, a 2014 model, sometime in 2013, but apparently not.

Oh well, I'm not looking to buy a new Titan anyway as my 2004 model, purchased in March 2004 and now over eight years old, has less than 30K miles. I expect to keep this truck at least for another ten years so Nissan can just take their good ol" time on the new Titan.

My only interest in a new Titan is to just to see what style and features Nissan comes out with in the updated truck.

This.

My '04 has 59K and is still running great. I really like not having a truck payment & I will prolly keep her until she just dies...but I could see myself buying an SUV as a daily driver after another 5-6 yrs or so. By then I'll have a good handle on my student loans, and something similar to the Lexus GX 470 will be tempting...:D

Sounds like you don't enjoy it enough to drive it, or vice versa. :redblob"

Im against the six speed, Leave that as a optional.. I hate my wifes 6 speed Tahoe and my buddies 6 speed Tundra, darn things are alway searching for a gear. The 2010 Tahoe lugs at 30mph which sucks also.

I'm not sure about this. Yesterday I saw what looked like a titan that was all wrapped up in those camo coverings that manufacturers use to cover up test cars . The truck had manufacturer plates on it & it was towing a toy hauler. Nissan & a few other makers have test facilities outside of PHX & I see test vehicles all the time.

I'll be interested to see the new design features but more importantly the structural/engine modifications which I assume will result in more power, better gas mileage, and that they learned from their lessons to produce a vehicle with minimal design changes needed.

Can't part with my '04. Too much fun history with it.

Next upgrades will be a Level 10...

May the next Titan will be a supersized hard body called the colossus with a diesel option and a 6 speed tranny

You guys are all focused on Nissan changing the two parts of the truck that seem to me to be the least problematic. The engine which by today's standards is admittedly a little light on the hp, but what it gives up hp it gains in great reliability. The transmission while only having 5 gears and not 6,7 or 8 that seems to be trendy it does a great job of doing what it should. It moves through the gears with gusto and almost never complains. Why not have a rear axle that that doesn't leak or shead parking break shoes every time you hit the slow pedal, a front differential that can hold up to at least mild abuse with out puking it's guts out. Breaks that don't need to be changed as often as the oil and a front suspension that doesn't clunk driving over the speed bumps in the dealership parking lot. Maybe I'm the only one thinking this way but, maybe we should hope for better function and durability before we worry about huge hp and how many buttons there are to make people worse drivers than they already are. With all that said man i hope that 4 cly. cummins comes our way.
Rant Over.

I hope it looks very similar to what we have now with just a few cosmetic changes. As far a power goes offer some options such as a V-6, Different V-8 power plants to compete with the Tundra and big three. And like ^^^ fix the leaking axles.

I Agree with all the above. I really hope they try to keep the power, but improve the MPG. They're really far behind on that. I really love my Titan, but throwing down 110$ everytime i fill her up to maybe go a week and a half on a tank kills me. I would also love to see some improvement on the interior. I'm not a fan of ford trucks except there diesels, but the improvements they have made is what Nissan needs to try and catch up with and quick. I have been losing a lot of sells here lately with people going for the ecoboost.

I love my 05 LE and love it that they haven't changed the look and style. More parts are available and people can't tell if I have a 2012 Titan or a 2005 Titan. Pretty good design if its going on 8 years or so and they still look good and modern. Plus I don't have the itch to buy a new Titan since they looks the same. Once a new version comes out I would wait at least two years so they can work out the bugs so I plan on keeping my 05 for a lot longer....and yes they need to improve MPG on the next version.

I don't see why people always suggest the single cab short bed option to be added to the lineup. Practically nobody buys those any more and even the extended cab models are pretty rare. I probably run across 10 crew cab Titans for every single king cab I see. People like crew cabs because of the added room. However, I hope they never totally get rid of the extended cabs though. If I ever trade up, I'd hate to be stuck getting a four door body style truck just because two door/extended cabs don't sell that well. Look at what they did to the car market.

The 400+hp QX56 powertrain would be nice, but that's overkill for the Titan. Just add VVT to the exhaust cams and add two more gears to the tranny. When they redesign the Titan, they don't need to come up with a ground up new truck. Just restyle the major body panels like Ford did with the F-150. Macho it up a little, but keep the green house and underlying structure the same.

Lol I couldn't have said it better, the Titan is pure bread American truck (my father in law says it a terrorist truck because its nissan he says taliban drive them around lol) would love to see a stick shift option and although I love my crew cab I also love standard cabs, not a fan of king cabs as theyre kinda stuck between two worlds
I also will be going with a CC for my next Titan! I really like the added space in the back seat! on the other hand though, i don't know how many times having a full size bed saved my butt when i was moving stuff!!!!

Just something to think about! :eyebrow:

I can fit a queen size mattress down flat in my bed & still be able to close my tailgate! :)

Yea, I'm probably going to get a Crew Cab next, the ability to haul passengers comfortably would make the truck more versatile, I usually park my truck and ride with other people if thier is a bunch of us going somewhere even though I like the extended cabs look better.
