Best helper springs for ride and hauling?

Need advice on the best helper springs for ride and hauling? I know about the $22 JT helper mod, I have not tried it but does it rival the Hellwig springs for $150? Are those cheap $22 springs any good for helping out the stock springs when the bed is loaded or are they all show for traction. I'd love to get by cheap if possible. Your thoughts.

Ben, those are for traction control - to help with axle wrap.

Had Hellwig on my last truck. Nice product. Absolutely NO effect on normal driving. Just kept truck from sitting on the axle when loaded.
BB, Just thought he could use the cheaper ones, if he placed them on the bottom of the spring instead of the top, it might work to hold a load. Just an idea.

These are the load adjusting helpers:

Thanks guys..Yeah, these are the ones I'm looking at and probably going to pull the trigger on. I like the idea of no effect on normal driving. With a full load of wood in the back of the Titan, the springs are sitting on the axle bad like you said, and even with a 650 lb honda foreman in there the springs are about on the helpers. After quite a few loads I even thing the springs have worn out alittle. I'll advise after I get the Hellwigs. :rockon

I would get the Air Bags from PRG.

Exactly what I was going to say. Why not bag it?

Did you look into PRG's bags too? Either way, I think the bags are the right way to go. I'll be ordering in the next week or so myself. Let us know how the install goes.

So Dave, let us know which ones you went with. How was the install? How do you like them?

Does anybody know if i put a u-bolt on the front and rear leaf spring would it stop the axle warp from happening or just mount one on the front part of the leaf spring instead of putting a leaf spring helper.

I've got the firestone airbags and thay work perfect. The only drawback is that you need to keep 10psi minimum in them and the front sits a little lower without a load and I don't like the unleveled look.

You only need 5 p.s.i. minimum in the bag at all times, unless the Titan-specific bag is different.

Sure it will help, but it will make for a stiff ride. If you clamp the springs down they can't work as designed.

You would only need 1 clamp at the front part of the spring where that 5/8" spring gap is. That will preload the spring and eliminate the axle wrap, but it also harshens the ride and lowers the rear by a 1/2".

I have had the Roadmaster Active Suspension on for about half a year now. I like it.
It does more than just help overload. It helps control also. And the rear axle glides over bumps real soft like. Installation was simple. The only downer was, I needed to remove the rubber roller over the leaf spring to install. It turned out to be no big deal though. 200 bucks online.

Never reported on this thread my desicion: I went with the Hellwigs and the difference was instant. Back end came up about .5 to 1 inch unloaded and with the wheeler in the back or a load of wood it has 0 sag (wood could weight 1,000lbs ). I have them pretty tight and will probably adjust them in the spring when things thaw out and try playing with different settings, right now the nuts are way up the u bolts. Towing is nice and right on, with the rear end bounceyness (if that is a word) is all but gone loaded. I like to put my 600lb wheeler in the back while towing my 4500 boat and before it would be maxed out on the springs appearing flat. Where now its right on with better braking control and steering feel as the weight is kept on the front wheels, instead of the back end making the front end stand straight up and people flash me at night thinking I have my brights on. Unloaded the ride is still softer than the offroad titans and with over a 1/2 tank of gas unnoticable. Next on the list tires and possible lift.

Where did you get them from and do you have a part number?
