I though I had posted this before but maybe it was on another site.:D

I had a broken air vent where the up/down louvers was not adjustable.
Took the vent apart and found what was broken and how I fixed it.

Using a very small "finishing" nail, i heated it up and push it into the plastic louver piece. Use a little epoxy for extra strengths to hold it in place.
Any type metal pin should work.

Put it back together in reverse orders. I did the fix a few years back and it's still working fine.

back in 06 when i bought my 2006, on the drive home (with just my permit cause i was only 15 lol) i was trying to adjust that vent. and sure enough it was assembled wrong or something cause it wouldn't budge. snapped the damn thing within the first 5 miles of owning the truck. never fixed it. always served as a reminder though lol

I bought my truck (used) with a broken air vent and I remember seeing your post on CT when I started hitting these forums. Never got around to it but maybe this will serve as a reminder to fix it. I've been finger bangin' it up and down for years.

Changed out the driver's and passenger's side ac vents today. I think it took me a total of 30 minutes in all, that's including putting my tools away. Easy fix, but a word of caution: the vents are very delicate...so handle with care!

This is such a great suggestion. Thanks for sharing. We just bought an old Armada and both driver and passenger vent tab pieces are broken. Not a huge deal but a little annoying. Probably a silly question but does the plastic covering just pop off or are there screws to get that off too?
