I had this issue and fixed it so i figured i would spread the word and show how easy it is.

first of all the outlet is on the pass side firewall right above the exhaust. The easiest way to get to it is to turn the tires to full chock to the left, and slide under the truck on the right side right behind the front tire.

Mine had a cover over it because the stock location lets the water drip right onto the exhaust. This however still let the water run back into the cab.

here is what you need.

an elbow, a heater hose connector, and a length of hose. Here are the packages of these so you can see the part numbers.

i put these three items together and used a couple of zip ties to hold them together, although the fitment is pretty snug. I then removed the stock diverter, and reused the push in holder off the end of it. i drilled a small hole in the push pin, and ran a zip tie through it to hold the end of the hose assembly. this is what it looks like installed. It was dark and i will get better pics when its daylight.

all together it cost about 7 or 8 bux for the parts, and all of 10 minutes to install. now there is now way it will drip back into the cab!

any questions just let me know!

I did it slightly different.

I use a piece of tubing and a 90 degree elbow.

Cut a piece and slid it down inside the OEM piece, mark it, remove it and cut to length.

Attach that piece to the elbow and slid it back inside the the OEM piece.

Cut a short piece and attached it to the elbow and slid the whole thing back into the AC drain piece.

Never a leak again and it looked OEM!

i tried just putting an elbow under the stock piece, but it still leaked. im talking water dripping from the rear floorboard leaking.. it was bad. this setup would probably fit inside the stock piece, but i didnt bother with it.

any way you could post some more pics of the setup? mine is leaking really bad!

Well I did a bypass and it was still leaking looks like it was the drain after all. I did the drain mod and it worked I was happy to see for once in my life it was the worst case scenario it worked out and was a cheap fix. I was just shocked how much water was coming out of the drain looked almost like someone was running a sick slowly when I had it on max.

Replacing the drain hose seems too simplistic, but I'll try. But, I spoke with the stealership and they said it might be the 'black box' in the dash/glove box may be plugged, any thought on this? This seems to have happened a few times lately, that I have noticed. This time It's been alot. The stealership also said when using the defrost that this produces more moisture. Who knows...what your opinion, I'd loke to know!

I have an 05 and am now getting a wet passenger floor board when running the AC for a good amount of time. This is the first time in 5 years of owning the truck that I have noticed it. Looked to me as if the water was condensation from the bottom of the large black box (sorry for lack of technical term) under the dash. My mat gets soaked. Think I have the same issue or something different?

the drain line goes from that black box, out the firewall. it is probably the same issue. you can pull the carpet back and watch the water drip out of the hole int he firewall. its even worse if you park on an incline.

Thanks for the reply and the details in this post. This is exactly the kind of stuff I like to check here before taking it to the dealership.

Any ideas on why mine is only showing signs of the issue now? I bought it new 5 years ago.

Thanks.

BTW - are you still looking for the lowering shackles? I got a slightly used set I am not using anymore. PM me....

I have a set, just havent put them on...

not sure why it takes time to show up. I bought mine used, and it started pretty fast, but its mostly because my driveway is pretty steep. parked nose up, allows for the water to flow back through the hole in the firewall.

Just got back from Auto Zone with the parts listed.

Opened the hood to look for this drain and saw another possible source.

This is another opening in the fire wall about a foot up from the drain hole we are discussing here. I saw a good amount of visible water here as well.

Ideas?

Just purchased the parts listed, and had hard time trying to get to the drain seal, so I took it to my tire store where I had my tires installed and gave them the parts and told them what needed to be done. Took photos of what was previously described and it took the Mechanic 10 minutes to install.... Water is pouring out drain!!!!!! Nissan wanted 275.00 for the change out where as my local independent Firestone dealer charged me 20.00!!!!!! Simple fix, only problem was getting to drain... much better is up on rack and tire removed...I could see where the drain is a very bad design.. The drain does not extend far out enough to go too far into boot!!!! so It just runs back into truck...

Simple solution to poor design.. thanks guys...

I got to the drain from underneath with the front tires on ramps.

Layed full sections of news paper between the steal floor and WET carpet padding covering the whole wet area, changed it out every 2 days until it was dry thru and thru.
Pop off door seal and kick panel and there is plenty of slack in the carpet to lay the newspaper.

Been fixed and dry for 4 years and No Smell or Mildew.

does anyone know if this still happens on the +08 models. Does it look like nissan fixed the problem?

Anytime a TSB comes out on something like this usually means all the vehicles after that have the fix, and I am sure something like this would already be fixed on later models. That TSB was a very early one in the TItan world.
