Quoting myself from another thread... Help lol. I have stock gutted mani's, stock gutted Bpipes, banks mid and 3" y, (2) 24222 bullets, vibrant uq, 3" piping to a 3.5" reso tip.

Well, installed the vibrant uq and all it did was quiet it down at startup and idle. I still had the annoying drone from 55-65. So, I just had the banks tip removed and had the exhaust run out behind the rear tire, like stock, with a reso tip. Still droning like a mofo from 55-65. Starting to get pissed at this exhaust.

I have always read that drone comes from the pipes after the muffler. So I'm thinking that if I simply dump it after the vibrant it'll kill the drone. Who here is running a bullet and a vibrant uq with it dumped out of the vibrant?

I have the Nismo Stainless Steel True Dual Exhaust on my 2004 Titan LE Crew Cab.
It is far superior to the original stock exhaust. The engine can breathe and perform without any restriction.
I loved the sound of my stock exhaust, this Nismo duel exhaust is all the original sound quality times ten. Nice rumble!
Loudness at the idle to 25 mph is twice as loud as the stock, and at WOT it's ten times as loud.
It always turns heads when you get down on the throttle!

I installed this Nismo exhaust myself, it bolted on and fit perfectly. It was relatively easy to install.
One of the best up-grades I did to my truck.

I've been wondering who makes the Nismo mufflers, well it has to be HKS since they designed/produced the Nismo headers for the Titan. I think Fujitsubo makes the Nismo S-Tune exhaust system for the 350/370z as a factory option, however it is not the factory equipped exhaust on the 370z Nismo edition. The factory 370z Nismo eidtion exhaust is made by HKS.

So my point is that you would have to go through HKS to get replacement mufflers for the Nismo Titan exhaust kit.

HKS Hi-Power stainless steel muffler cutaway. Same muffler used on the titan imo, just without the 4.5in tip.

This is what the inside of my Apexi N1 muffler looks like.

Greddy muffler internal design pictures. They look very similar with perforated core, stainless steel wool and fiberglass packing.

This is the stainless steel packing/wool that is used in all Borla mufflers.

This is what you common Resonator (bottle style and other sizes) look like inside... just perforated core and stainless steel wool packing.

Cutaways of Dynomax's muffler lineup...all of them.

Corsa Exhaust muffler cutaway (this design is very unique, with the RSC design they offer) Cool sound in my opinion, look at the crazy design though!

This is a really unique exhaust that I wouldn't mind trying on a vehicle as they do sound good.

STAINLESS Works Mufflers (3 different designs)

This company makes the best sounding exhaust systems for the new camaro and 2011 Mustang 5.0 GT in my opinion, the Retro Chambered is amazing sounding. Yeah they may not flow as good as some, but whatever the few hp/tq you may or may not lose is worth the sound. Plus with a Kennebell or Turbo setup added to the mix, you have a symphony.

2012 Nissan Patrol Y62 LE (so it has the VK56VD with 7spd auto) Fox Exhaust, i think its just muffler swap.

Do anyone know what length of the Banks 3" Monster muffler is on the cat back? There is a 24" part # 53962 or a 30" part # 54005. I'm going to go with a Flowmaster 2.5" to 3" Y pipe into a Banks Monster into a Vibrant UQR and out factory exit. Anyone similar to this setup?

Eventually header (not sure LT or shorties) will come into play...

I believe it is 24" the actual muffler is about 20" I have the same set up but with a custom made Y. I do think that the flowm
aster is proably a better Y than mine. you will love the torque with this set up and the UQ takes it down to liveable volume with still a nice deep sound, Good luck!

Milenko GT

Thanks for the great post of all the pictures for an exhaust junkie like me. The only problem is you got me thinking of changes to my already new system ( 4th one) lol

what is cis or the rasp that everyone is talking about?

I have a gibson 3.5" from the b pipes back to the muffler and 4" out.

sound level is about a 2 at idle. and about a 7 when towing at 4500 rpm. I do get this ratteling noise from under the hood at about 3500 rpm at WOT cant figure out what its from sounds like its vibrating the fender from sucking in all that air from the CAI.

did i go too big for the exaust? it sounds just like my mothers 96 Z28 ss.

The kid is right! that was awesome!

I added an Airaid intake today. Drone is almost gone now. The exhaust got a little quieter, but biggest change is less drone.

Still may do the Vibrant UQ one day, but for now very happy!

Nissan Titan Start up, and rev. - YouTube Heres a video clip of mine and yes when the sound pops, i hit the rev limiter...

I have a Flowmaster super 10 with stock everything else coming out right behind the passenger door.
Cis: Yes
Drone: Yes
1-10 I'd say a 9 when at wot. Cruising- 6-7

I love it, but im probably going to switch to cajuns with a dynomax bullet.

Almost sounds like something is loose in the muffler. Catless will be loud and possibly develop cis, just a heads up. Have you though of a borla? Kinda expensive but worth every penny.
