Unhook the battery longer. Like overnight to let it reset.

Im having the same issue my radio will not turn off I unhooked the battery as soon as I hook it back up bam radio is back on it resets all the preset stations and the time but will not turn off

 

Electrical failure inside the radio. To fix - replace the radio.

 

Why is it when something odd happens to the radios on one it happens on several. lol. Are they the rockfords or just 6 disc?? Check to SE if the accessory power port shuts off with the key??
Can't just say it's a radio issue till you check. I'm not saying it's not. But there is no proof it is yet

 

Hey 08RedTitan - did you ever determine the root cause? My 08 Rockford Fozgate just did the same thing when I got home from a long trip tonight. Last time this happened I recall that by keeping something connected to the charger plug-in (in the back seat?) the same thing happened, until I unplugged the charger. That is not the case this time. I did the quick battery disconnect to no avail. Right now I have the 10A fuse pulled until I can look into it further.

 

Make sure when you installed radio you didnt put the constant power wire from the truck to the switched power wire of the radio. Constant power wire is for the clock and pre set stations to remain correct. I hope this makes sense lol

 

Mine is a Rockford. I just left the battery unhooked over night and it reset everything haven't had the problem since. It wasn't just the radio the Bluetooth stayed on too. It was a relay under the dash that was sticking and causing it to stay on. Nothing was replaced just left the power off for a good 12 hours. Root cause it was about 115° heat index the week I had my issue. That's the only guess we had.

 

Also its the factory radio so it's definitely not a wiring issue.

 

Indeed. I disconnected the battery overnight and it worked as stated; the radio stays off now upon shutting off the truck. Odd thing though, it wasn't an immediate fix. Upon first reconnecting, the radio continued to be powered on. I cursed. Then I drove it to the store and back and it "healed itself".

Oh I misunderstood. Th OP said upgraded system. I took that as aftermarket HU. My bad!!
