Ok i know you all know what the best stuff is for the best price.

Basically i got 120,000 miles on my titan. and i use it alot. I go to my hunt camp (tons of sugar sand) and bumps.. and drive alot.. i use my titan for work also. So my shocks are like gone and cant even hold weight so i need to change them.. But i figure while im doing that i might as well upgrade and do a maybe 1-1.5 inch lift. I also want to level out the front end.

I have been looking at these.

http://www.gorancho.com/shock_lookup...odels&x=31&y=9

If i go with these what rear struts do i need? I really want fronts that come with the springs on it already cause i do not want the stock springs.

Is there anything better and cheaper? What do yall recommend.. Im looking to order tomorrow and install next week..

Thanks ahead. Cr0ck1!

First off, I am no suspension guru.

Many guys on here swear by Greg and his knowledge. Get ahold of him, tell him what you want and he will give you a straight answer. PRG Products

Are you 2wd or 4wd? If you're 2wd a lot of guys get some extra lift just from adding the 4x4 springs. And a popular option with that is to also run a bilstein 5100's for your struts. This will give you the lift you need to level it out and give you a much better ride. But im not the expert on that setup. If you do a search on it you'll find a bunch of info. If you're 4x4 then a mini lift from prgproducts would be a good option and while your replacing everything you can still pick up some new springs and bilstein 5100's or HD's.

ROCKAUTO.COM( a site supporting sponsor) you can get the Rancho Quick lift loaded with a spring for like 190 a side. I think they also have a discount for TT members. Give them a look as well. I like Greg at prg too but there are other companies that deserve a look as well. Those shocks also give you 2.25" lift on certain models. It is loaded with a RS9000xl shock and you can get the matching rear RS9000xl from them as well.

went to a shop today and they were gonna charge me $1,022.00 to install a leveling kit and bilsteins all the way around, and an allignment.. SO this seems like too much right? I might just order the stuff and do it myself!

Im told the ranchero shocks suck and are horrible and they also have suck bad reviews.

Installing a leveling kit and bilsteins all around would take a day max if you are doing it the first time. Super easy if you know how to turn a wrench. There's a ton of quality Writeups as well if you get stuck.

just installed a daystar 2" leveling kit on my 4wd and LOVE it. However, my truck has 97,000 hard miles and was a b**** on each part, because everything was rusted. My advice is to find a good shock (everyone here loves the bilsteins) and find a decent milled or poly leveling kit and have SOMEONE else do the install. Your knuckles/body/sanity will thank you. leveling kit is the way to go. You don't realize how much of a rake these trucks have until they are level lol. Good luck.

PRG is the way to go. Being a 4x4 the tallest you want to get without UCAs is 2" or you will have coil bucket contact.

How much do you want to spend on a leveling kit?

Since you are looking for the least expensive, but don't want garbage like Rancho, the 5100's with your '04 4x4 coils will give you 1.5" on the middle setting, and if you add a PRG 1.5" leveling kit you would have a solid 3" front lift and no coil bucket contact. For the rear just get the 5100s or the Icons and no blocks, and you'll be completely level, if you have the big tow overload leaf. For no big tow, you might need to drop the 5100's to the lower 1/2" setting, and you'll be at 2" front lift, and a 1/2" of rake.

Btw, either run a weld on the rear shackles. upgrade to the '08+, or get the PRG adjustable, set at 0" drop, or you might have the spot welds on your '04 shackles unroll, allowing the leaf pack to shoot through the bed. There are threads on here about this happening, even to daily drivers.

OK so i got my billstein 5100's today.. and im waiting for my 08 4x4 springs. so ill be installing then as soon as the springs come!!.. thanks all for the info.. ill post before and after pics as soon as im done.!

Just go to courtesyparts.com and pick some shackles up. They're only $40 or $50 and its cheap insurance. Sucks that they didnt make them right the first time around but I just did mine last night and I'm glad I did. Only took about an hour and that was moving slowly. Pretty simple especially if you have an extra set of hands (as with all installs)

I got the struts from 4x4 parts.com
and the springs from Nissan parts connection. They are cheaper on everything and anything oem.

I tried to use fontana nissan and i could barley get a pm back and when i called i got no answer.. then i left a message telling them I GOT MONEY AND WILL BUY THE SPRINGS>. no responce.. i will never ever deal with them again..

Other wise im getting it going.. hopefully the springs will come monday.. the struts are already here.. i might order the shackels also..

Ok got it all done.. actually got the rears done last week and last night got the fronts on and the leveling kit.. Man ill tell you who ever puts the nuts and bolts on in the nissan dealer has kryptonite like strength. I had to use a leverage bar so long that i could of have a limbo party under it.. lol

Got it all on.. had some nuts rusted so bad i had to change some.. some bolts i had to cut a little of the bottom cause i mashed the threads banging them out.. but its done..

I do get a little bucket contact when i make a sharp turn (is this normal when turning?)..

Well id like to say thanks to everyone here who helped me get the stuff i needed and all the info i found here..

Also i feel like the truck is like a half inch higher in the front.. Is this normal ? Will the front shocks settle ?... I got the billsteins on the bottom notch with a leveling kit..

Ill post pics tomorrow.!

Its not coilbucket contact you are hearing its probably your sway bar rubbing. I dont think you get bucket contact while turning. How much did you lift it?

Yes your front suspension will settle, it should even out.

I just put the billsteins and set the fronts to the lowest setting. Then put a leveling kit on the front.

Now the big thing.. noone will allignn it for me.. firestone said they cant touch it cause it has a lift kit on it..

I called another truck spot and they told me they "might have to buy something to make it work" ??? What gives.. this sucks.

Firestone won't??? They aligned my old lifted Titan like 10 times. You don't even have a bug lift on it. Try a dealership but you might pay more.

That's b.s. that didn't make any sense. Call someone else

Well got it alligned. I went to a place in valdosta ga. They do lifted trucks..

SOme problems.. ON the upper control arm the bolt used to align it is just corroded to the metal bushing. (i actually had this problem with taking the front shocks off, The bolts would not come out because they were corroded to the bushings) I guess living in tampa bay by the beach so long with all the salt did that.. SO they got it to budge enough to get the allignment done. Also on the upper control arm the bolt that goes into the knuckle with the cotter pin in it had stripped so i had cut a little off (now theres no cotter pin due to there being no thread there lol) But its pressed on and the weight of the truck will not let it come off.. Im just going to get the better upper control arms and new bottom ones when i get time to research them.. Most likely ill just upgrade.. but its done.. IT was a MAJOR P.I.T.A. because ever bolt was corroded on and just hard to get off.. I did replace some of the bolts with ones i had in the shop that matched..

Heres the pics.
