AUTO Up/Down Back Windows??

Hey,
Has anyone modded their back windows to have the 1-touch option for rolling the windows up or down like the front ones do??

I have an '07 CC SE
I want to make the back windows roll up just by hitting the button once like i can for the front two. I would not mind if just the switches on the drivers door did it. It would make it much easier when rolling up all 4 windows at once.

Is this possible??? what parts are needed??? about how much???

I wasnt sure if I could just repace the switches and it would work but i'm sure there's more to it than that.

Good question. I assume it's just in the switch itself, as you can feel the 'sweet spot' when activating it.

It's not just the switch.

However there are aftermarket module that let you add this to any power windows.

i say instead of buying any module just tempoarily unhook one of the front window switches and clip it in place of the rear window switch. if it works now all you need is 2 more front switches. thats whatd id do

baseballsfan has a nice write up on how to do this. you'll need 2 65$ modules to make it happen. you can also add a module to lock your tailgate electronically with the key fob.......

i'm most familiar with the dei/viper products but one 530T module is all you need. this will control two windows in both directions and also provide one-touch. not only can you wire to the driver's controls, you can also run wires to the rear doors so they'll have one-touch operation. the PDF is somewhere on the net if you are mechanically inclined, but most sterero shops can get this done for you. other brands may work too.

i was looking to do it from inside the cab, not from the keyfob.

i am talking about how you can just pull up the switch on the drivers window and it goes all the way up without holding the switch up the whole time it rolls...

i want to have the other switches on the drivers door do that for the other windows. does the $65 thing you are talking about do that??

i'm gonna have to search for this one.... i thought you wanted them to go down with the fob... not sure if the auto up/down works the same way.. i think that's just the switch.

I had asked the same question a month or two ago. I also think you can simply switch out the switches.

I will attempt to do this tonight and post my results. Swap a front switch with a rear switch.

Anything I need to know before I attempt to swap out the switches? Do I need to remove the door panels and if so, how hard is it (be careful)? Besides, my switch assembly (drivers side) tends to push down a bit when I press buttons. It really shouldn't move at all (should it?). I guess while I'm in there I'll see how I can secure it better.

By the sounds of it, when I hit my front switch I hear a relay pop once it's all the way up, I don't know how it's done right now though. I'll have to dig through the service manual and see what it says.

Swapping out the switch is not going to work, don't waste your times guys. I wish it was that simple, been attempted before and reported not working.

I'm not trying to get off topic, but is there a simple way to make all the windows go down with the keyfob? That would be very cool.

it works at the switches. an alarm just allows you to auto close the windows when arming after you have exited. ask a stereo/alarm shop or tech12volt in the audio forum if you don't believe me. my mom has two 530T modules in her crv. it's wired to the driver panel only so the driver can auto up or down all 4 windows. she does have an alarm so it will auto-close/vent when arming. if the other 3 door controls were wired to the modules as well, they would also have auto up/down. i have the clifford smartwindows4 module (4 window control in one unit) in the titan and it's wired to ALL door switches. i know i don't need it for the fronts but i wanted to auto-close and vent the windows with the clifford remote; thought it was easier this way.

Just a safety thought, the front windows have a safety feature so that if anything (children, forearm etc) gets in the way it will automatically go down. If your going to convert the rear window to auto up,, becareful. I'd hate to see a kid get crushed while trying to crawl back to the bed while his brother is messing with the buttons up front. I've got 2 kids and it WILL happen. Nice Idea but that needs to be a concern. Good luck on the project.

yeah that is one reason i only want to put the module on my drivers door. That way all the other doors run like normal. Right now on the auto up on the front if they hit an arm or anything they stop. i wonder if they back ones would be the same after installing with that module. havent done it yet but ill let you all konw after i get it wired up.
the way i am going to do it is so only the drivers door will auto up/down all 4 windows
