My 2004 Titan intermittently shuts off. It usually turns back on immediately. The one time it didn't, I towed it to a mechanic. He says the IAC needs replacing at 720 part plus labor. I don't have the $$ so he offered to clean it and see if it helped. It didn't. It shut off again four days later. Again, it started right back up. I googled around and found the ECM recall. Yes, that was done. I realize the answer is probably to go ahead and replace IAC, but I figured I would ask out of desperation. Anyone have other troubleshooting ideas I can do. It's not that I don't trust the mechanic, but...well, maybe a second opinion is needed for sure.

thanks.

I will try the resets...you never know.
I was at dealer picking up ecm relay, and they do have IAC. At lleastt parts dept confirmed part price.

Anyway, hopefully resetting/relearning does the trick before spending any more $$$

A used throttle body is cheaper...

And update for anyone who is interested...I did the resets/learning, etc. on Wednesday, and no new instances yet. It's too early, but I am crossing my fingers. As an alternative, if it continues to happen, I will buy the throttle body (what we have been calling IAC??) online for 600 and install myself. This will save me some $$$.

I wouldn't be suprised if it's fixed now, so cross your fingers.

No doubt, I've been pricing them to find one to port and polish and all the ones I found on the bay were reasonable with the exception of a few . I wouldn't pay over 200.00 for one and it's cake to put it on.

What's the latest update? Still good after the reset/learning procedure?

Is there something to reset after installing new throttle body? Is it just ecu reset? I ask because I installed a new throttle body and it still turns off. I fear that this was not the cause after all. I hate to do it, but I will probably take it to dealer on Friday, for service.
