Ready to install my stuff, but I need to know how rough is rough. Pro 4x springs with the 5100's on the middle setting with a 2" spacer and RC UCA's. Would the ride set on the middle setting with those springs be too rough?
Coil bucket contact has me concerned, but Mack 207 is running the same setup (except for regular 4x4 springs) without that much grinding of the coil bucket. If I can get away with no grinding on the CB that would be even better. Would that be possible? If not, I can always get the spacers milled down to 1.75" installed height to avoid grinding on the CB.
It seems people report a pretty rough ride with 4x4/Pro4x springs and 5100's on the middle setting. Is the ride really that rough and unbearable?
I used to drive a Z51 equipped '84 Corvette back in the day so I know what a rough ride is. However, if it's like the non Z51 '84 Vette (the stiffest standard suspension C4) I used to drive a few years back, I could stand that. That was a perfect compromise between ride and handling for me.
If it helps any, I had the opportunity to drive a '06 Dodge Ram long bed diesel a few years back for one day and I loved the ride/handling. Nice and tight with a lot less lean in turns than my Titan. It was a little jiggly and bouncy over railroad tracks, but it wasn't that bad.
