Can The Titan Handle A Plow?

I live in New England and currently plow my business' parking lot with my Toyota T100 when it snows. I also have some small accounts and friends driveways that I plow. I was wondering if anyone knows if the Titan can be outfitted with a plow? I was told by one plow manufacturer (Pathfinder), that the new (2004) F150 was no good for plowing. I've also heard this about the Tundra. I understand it's something to do with the type of front suspension and I believe the Titan's is similar. I asked the Nissan salesman today if you could put a plow on the Titan and he said: "Sure you can", however, I got the feeling he wasn't sure so I called him on it and asked him if he was postitive and he back-peddled and said he would check with his service manager on Monday. Does anyone out there know for sure?

Thanks

IIRC Western makes a plow for the Titan. If you choose to have one installed go to a reputable truck place and have them equip the truck with airbags up front so the plow weight doesn't trash your front suspension. Also be sure to weight the bed to keep things level. Friend of mines brother plows a few driveways and their church parking lot with his 04 Titan and has had no issues in 3 going on 4 years. Not sure what plow he is using though.

This is not an xterra forum. Idk if anyone can help you here.
Personal opinion- I'm not sure if the xterra has the power for a plow or not.

I saw a Titan with a plow once in central IL. The blade itself was smaller than what you usually see on winter plow trucks. After all the money and time and wear on a vehicle equiping a Titan with a plow you're probably better off spending $1500 on an old truck that already has a plow equiped. I know in Wisconsin they're a dime a dozen.

it has nothing to do with IFS, truck wasnt made for the weight (GMs are IFS as well). while you can do it i wouldnt. plowing is more for 3/4 and 1 tons and bigger. the suspension is just a little more HD. that being said ive seen S10s with plows and while they work when the plow comes off the ground the bumper touches the ground :)

my point was a half ton truck wasnt made to carry a plow at all, whether or not it has IFS. it may be worse for an IFS truck to carry a plow than a SA truck but a 3/4 or 1 ton with an IFS is fine for plowing.

a 1/2 ton can plow fine it's not about power it's about traction We used to plow with an old 60hp Jeep it had true 4wldrive like a tractor and was unstopable. it all comes down to selecting the proper set up and what you want to plow. For resedential drive ways a Jeep or old Toyota short bed can't be beat as they are very manuverable.

Iwould not put a 9ft plow on a half ton anything and go plw 50 parking lots with it but for your own house and grandma's they will do just fine just select the lighter weight plow set up pretty much every manufacturer has them

We currently use a T100 with a Meyer plastic blade set up The plastic blade has help up great but I needed to weld a few pieces into the plow frame to stiffen it up snapped the frame once. i kind of wonder why more of them don't have that plastic blade set up no rust, snow slides right off,no dents and it's lighter than the steel ones. I'd be looking for that even if I had a 1 ton.

The local Nissan dealership has a Titan set-up for a plow....
I saw the same thing today at our Nissan Dealership. We got a foot of snow last nite and they were plowing it away with an '04 titan.

first post/new Titan owner - thanks everyone for all the good information so far.

I had been shopping for a plow also. I live in the North West. We don't get snow that often (3-5 times per year). When we do get snow we get "snowed in" for several days at a time. We have a steep gravel driveway off of a fairly long gravel road that does not get plowed by the county. I was not too excited about needing to permanently mount anything to the new truck.

I know it is not exactly a traditional plow. I ended up choosing this one:

Snow Plowing | Rear Plow | Snow Removal Equipment | Pickup Plows

I bought the 8" "EZ"

It just arrived this week. I have not had much of a chance to use it yet, but I am very happy with it so far. It is built well and it seems to works as advertised. It cleaned up the mess left over from our last storm in no time. I can use it on my Jeep Wrangler if needed, and I can loan it to the neighbors (no mods needed on the truck). I'll have to wait for the next snow to give it a real work-out.

when youre not plowing and the plow is up, it can and will block airflow...whats wrong with extra cooling? all trucks need more cooling than they give them especially tranny cooling

I saw a white Titan with a few bright LED orange strobes and a light bar on the roof flashing bright orange. Looked like an awesome truck. Plowing away a parking lot.. That was seen in Aurora, CO
