A couple of years ago, right before I got my Titan....I took my Dodge Dogoata to WallyWorld for a quick oil change....this was the first time I had ever let somebody else change my oil...ever....A couple of days later while I was washing the truck, I looked over the right front tire through the wheel opening and noticed it had the same cheapo .99 cent STP oil filter that I had installed the last time I changed the oil....I went back to WallyWorld and showed the service manager my reciept and pointed out the blue STP filter....he hung his head in shame and changed out the oil again and gave me a card worth 3 free oil changes......When I bought my Titan, I got 6 free oil changes in the deal....I marked the oil filter with a magic marker every time and am glad to report that not once did the Nissan Dealership try to pull the WallyWorld scam on me.....now I'm very leary about leaving my vehicles for any type of service.

I was going to get mine done at Wally World, but a lady came up to th counter and started yelling because they had mounted her new tires with the white walls out and had mentioned to the counter person several times white walls in. I was thinking mistakes happen and looked out at the kids that were working there and thought to myself no way. Found a place with older guys for those times when I don't want to change it myself.

Iwent to wallyworld for a quick oil change. I was the first on in. The kid changing my oil looked like he had never turned a wrench before. It took this kid 20 minuets just to get the skid plate off. I watched and noticed when he was done that he didn't tighten the bolts on the skid plate, he kept dropping the ratchet, it was painful to watch. After he pulled it out of the service bay I got the manager to come out and tighten the four skid plate bolts.Took an hour and a half for my quick oil change. Never again!!!

I always do my own oil changes on both vehicles. Do not trust anyone..

Nope, not just you. Pre-Titan, I took my little Ford Ranger to a local shop for an oil change. About 2k miles into that change, I had to get under the hood for something else. There sat my oil filler cap on top of the radiator. I will only go now to a place where I can stand there and watch them do the work. Only bad thing about those places is that I get tired of them "upselling" me for stuff I don't need or want done. Just change the dang oil.

Yep, only thing I've had done to my Ram by someone else so far was welding the Borla and twin pipes up after I had hung them and positioned them. All they had to do was about 10 minutes worth of tig welding. Otherwise, noone has touched my truck but me. No way am I letting some $6 an hour high-school kid who has nothing but his girlfriend or next skating jump on his mind touch my baby.

I hate to let anyone work on my vehicles, and will only do it as a last resort. For the 04 brake upgrade, if I could just ask them to hand me the boxed parts, I'd do it.

Very few people take any pride in their work anymore, particularly in a big place where the mechanics don't often talk face-to-face and aren't necessarily doing their own recall work.

Never trust Wally World, they are the worst. A lady I work with took her Accord to WW to have an oil change and found out a few weeks later they had broken the air box and neglected to tell her. My gf took her old civic there and afterwards the thing was idling really fast. I couldn't figure out what was wrong so we took it to City Garage and the geniouses at Wally World had somehow managed to break the idle screw. What the heck were they doing messing with an idle screw?

My trck has a little over 7600mls on it and was thinkin of the 7500mle service. I've changed the oil twice since new but if I dont take it to that service check what happens to warranty?

HMMMMM....

If you ever read the details of the service checks, they are mostly fluff, and cost you a couple of hundred dollars to change your oil and maybe rotate your tires. Just follow the recomendations in the maintenace guide that came with you Titan, and document the mileage, save the reciepts for oil, oil filters, air filters, differetial fluid, (transfer case, (Matic-D), if you have a 4x4). Find a tire place for rotations.

Even if you have the dealer do the work, only pay for the required stuff.

A few years ago I was feeling lazy and took my Frontier to Jiffy Lube. As I was standing there watching I noticed that the d!ckhead up top was filling the oil before the d!ckhead below put the oil plug back on. I waited until they were done and about to start the truck when I told them to stop and get the manager. He asked what was wrong and I told him to check the dipstick. The guys were saying it's full and I asked if they want to bet my truck vs. 1 months salary if they were so sure, they got scared and said no. The manager checked the level and it was almost 2 quarts low. The guys looked at each other and the manager then himself drained it all out and refilled it.
I got six free oil changes by the manager doing the work instead of the staff and after those six have never let anyone touch my vehicles again. I even got a written apology from the corporate offices which means they actually let them know what happened.

I took my GMC into Jiffy Lube a few years back for an oil change. This kid came out and asked "is your truck four wheel drive?" I looked at him and laughed. Then told him "yeah, it only says it on the bed, it has a shifter on the floor, and if you'd looked at the front axle you could probably figure it out."

Also had a buddy who's wife went there, and less than 3 miles blew the engine because the filter was the the wrong one and somehow came off, and lost all the oil.
