You want to know how to take a 5,300 lb truck with the aerodynamics of a brick, touchy high speed handling, tires rated for 112 mph, and drive it at speeds of 120 mph or more on the same road my family and I drive on?

He's checking out the Cortex Programmer link right now. This world has an endless supply of boneheads.

if your taking your truck to the track or messing around in a dead end street..its fine. But if you are getting a programmer to just get somewhere faster...get a bus pass please. save a few lives.

yes its Paparyno. I got mine to 125 and had to back off. My truck did not feel safe going that fast, and as I have told other members, I will never do it again in this truck. 97 mph is good enough for me on the track lol.

I dont think Paparyno comes to these sites anymore though. He got an ear-full about going 140 and some said they don't think he really did it. Plus he had some skeptics on his track performance. He got aggrevated and left.

I've made a few early morning desert trips and let the Titan rip with nobody around...At 112 mph there was plenty of power left, and the truck wasn't straining....

BUT you could feel the truck getting a little light and a hair twichy...I have a Cortex programmer but still see no need for me to raise the 115 mph limit on my truck...My 2 cents..

I've had mine up to 110, and I really don't care to go any faster than that, like the previous posters have said these trucks have the aerodynamics of a brick, they're not designed to go that fast!!

Pretty stupid if you ask me. What could possibly be so important you'd need to do 114+? Pretty stupid if you feel the need to remove the restriction and put so many peoples lives at risk. It's one thing to do on an empty road as I have done it before for the experince. But as you claim it'd probably be for a day you would need to get somewhere quick, and odds are that day would have other drivers on the road.

I have the BullyDog and with it you can change the rev limiter as well as the top speed limiter. Although I have my WOT restrictions removed, I chose to leave the rev and speed limiters right where they are. I can't see me needing or wanting to take an almost 6000LB truck near 100 MPH. I wouldn't recommend it for the street but for those track running, it is an option.

Get caught doing it and you'll have to change your member name to "Jailbait" or "Freshmeat". Getting clocked over for anything over 120mph is automatic jail time and they will get the helocopters out after you. The radar guns used to not be able to lock in for anything over 120mph but they do now so your actual speed will be recorded and you will have no defense.

IMO, anyone going over 110-mph in one of these trucks on public roadways where other vehicles might be present is an IDIOT and opens potential for new laws to be written that regulate what aftermarket tuners are allowed to offer.

Oh yea, and I've heard that you can go over 150-mph on a Mountain Bike if you find a steep enough hill to go down and you won't have any governer restrictment to worry about. I haven't talked to anyone who's actually done it yet so there might be potential for your YouTube fame waiting for you right there. :teeth:

Totally agree with everyone else here, unless the suspension has been modified and you're running tires rated for higher speeds than the stock tires you should leave this alone. Just because the speedo goes to 140 doesn't mean you should drive 140. Like some of the other posters here; i've had mine up to about 110 and the truck felt VERY unstable, was only a short burst down the interstate with nobody else around. Mine is on stock tires, stock height 4wd big tow package.

Removing the speed limiter to get to town a little faster sounds like a nice way to throw 20k out the window and kill someone.

Lets pretend for a second that you were in a hurry to get somewhere. Traffic on the interstate is light and most everyone is running at 80mph...

You've got to get to an exit 10 miles down the road.. It will take you seven and 1/2 minutes to get to your exit if the flow of traffic remains constant.

If you decide to stomp on it and run at say 113 mph which is 33 miles per hour faster than everyone else now requiring you to have to weave in and out of traffic... Your 10 mile drive at 113 mph will take you 5.3 minutes to complete...

If you removed your speed limiter and drove at 140 mph which exceeds the safe rating on stock tires and is way to fast for a stock suspension & height you would make your 10 mile drive in 4.2 minutes...

Now lets look at the results..
Driving 80 mph, takes us 7.5 minutes to go 10 miles.
Driving 140 mph, takes us 4.2 minutes to go 10 miles.
We've manage to save 3.3 minutes if we were able to maintain a constant 140 mph and keep control of the vehicle while weaving in and out of traffic going 60 mph faster than they are..

When we get to the top of the exit ramp the light will probably have just turned red anyways.

If you increase the time you obviously get more savings, but could you honestly think of a reason you would need to hold the truck at 140 mph for a long distance say 100 miles?

Same Numbers 100 mile distance:
Driving 80 mph takes us 75 minutes to travel 100 miles.
Driving 113 mph takes us 53 minutes to travel 100 miles.
Driving 140 mph takes us 42 minutes to travel 100 miles.

Overall savings in time: is 33 minutes if we were able to maintain 140 mph for 100 miles.

get a programmer to get passed the governer. My guess is he's talking about on the street though cause I've never seen a titan go past 110 in the quarter mile. And I have a programmer but I left the rev and speed limiter the same cause I don't really need to run past 6000rpms and 112 is really fast in a truck as tall as the titan. But to each their own

Look I go to trhe track thats usually the only way I will open mine up but if you live near va or wv you can go down 55 and open her up thats th only way you should ever go that fast but all you got to do is get the Bully Dog Power pup and change to wide open throttle and switch to 140 instead of stock but beware if yuo do you got to run premium fuel or it will mess your engine up quick I also recomend the NISMO cold ai intake so it cools faster I run around 140 at the track and go 0-60 in around 5.2 to 5.6 seconds depending how much rubber I burn but good luck and stay safe

Damn. Have you ever heard of a period or spell check? With your run on sentences and misspellings you sound like Jethro Bodine.
