Chrysler will manufacture a full-size pickup for Nissan. Based on a Nissan unique design, this truck will be manufactured at Chrysler’s Saltillo (Mexico) Assembly Plant.
How unique..........different grill???
There are two ways to interpret that article:
There is going to be a new Titan...........or the (real) Titan is dead.

Well if Chrysler is building the next Titan then I will not be buying another Titan . If I wanted a Ram 1500 I would've bought one; this is very disappointing for me. I understand the business logic behind it , but if Nissan would've done their homework a little better before they launched the Titan
back in 04 they wouldn't be in this hole. A Ram 1500 rebadged as a Titan isn't going to cut it for me.:crying:

I hope this is directed at a HD truck and not the current Titan replacement. :crying: If the Titan goes Ram, I'll go away from Nissan. Maybe look for me at the Tundra forums....:jester:

I see 2008/2008.5 Nissan Titan sales taking off now! Buy buy buy! Get yer Titan while it's still American, still made by Nissan, and not a bottom of the pile Dodge! My god Ghosn....WTF are you thinking?! Try a little advertizing you dope! Worked for the Altima....or will Dodge be turning that into a pile of shlt now too?! Nissans turning back down that slope again!

My guess is the Titan will be a rebadged Ram. Chevy and Toyota did the same thing with the Prizm and the Corolla. Same car, different name.

Oh man. This is just sad.

No, it's worse than sad. News like that make it a bad day indeed. :(

i'm no dodge fan myself. we have four cummins 4x4's and all have had atleast 2 tranny rebuilds, 3 have clanking rearends and have had all sorts of electrical problems. as long as it dont look like a dodge, run like a dodge, or have a crappy tranny like a dodge im ok with it, maybe.

I have an unrealistic hope for a true Nissan design at an under utilized Dodge plant, and a realization I own a unique part of history, like my Betamax. :)

Update from the conference call via pickuptruck.com says it IS the replacement for the 1/2T Titan.

Unless Titan gets beefed to the "heavy half" style like older Chevy trucks, I'm afraid it's looking bleak for the Titan as we know it..."misslelau

Titan may become the replacement for the Dakota.

Well, we can't say we did not know these guys were liars. Guess its Tundra or Chevy. Hummmmmmmmm.

Well damn!!

But this might not be that bad. The Ram has come a long with dependability, fit and finish and if Nissan is doing the design and supply the parts with Dodge just putting them together it might be okay. It better than the Titan going away all together.

Nissan did their home work before they released the truck in 2004. what they did not do is advertise correctly. They have maybe 3 commercials that show the toughness of the Titan and none showing all the excellent features of the truck. The rest of the commercials are about sales events. wooohooo!!

My projected date for a new truck is 2010-2011.

2011 Dakota, I mean Titan wth a VK56 in it. mmmmmm They did say full size pick-up truck so maybe not of Dakota size.
