I decided i want the utili-track system after i bought my SE.

Is there a way to add the Utili-Track System to my SE King Cab??
If so, where can i find the parts?

If anybody has installed the System please let me know if its difficult.

Thanks in advance,
BK.

i dont think it can be added. the anchor points for the rails themselves are not there. there are some alternatives, their was a thread not to long ago about them in the parts section.

*edit* there was nothing in that thread to help ya out. you would have to fab up your own system.

I guess anything is possible but the bed on Utili-trac equiped trucks are a little different. They are reinforced to carry the extra load.

I wouldent even try it if the bed is supposed to be reinforced.
It was just a thought, i would love to have that feature, but wouldent risk it.

Here's something to make you feel better though Briank, I've used mine....MAYBE twice, and I could have gotten away w/o using it at all. Enjoy your truck!

Thanks for your concern HVT.

I wouldent use it that often either. I like to hunt alot and it would be nice to throw my gear in a tool box, and when i come out of the woods i always change my shoes and gear before getting into my rig, it would be sweet to drop down the tailgate, slide the tool box down and change shoes and gear.

Thats the only time i would really use it.

you know when i first bought my truck i thought it was a useless option but it has turned out that i use it almost weekly with all the sh*t i haul around. plus the side lockbox is an attention getter to anyone who has never seen a titan before.

If you try to add every option of the Utility-Bed package (spray-on bedliner, utility box on bedside, 12V outlet, lights, tracks) you are probably better off buying the whole bed. They sell for around $2500 new, + paint and taillights I believe. Your best bet is to try and find a used one, I've seen a couple for sale after people put utility (work/flat) beds on the truck. I think they sell around $1000 used.

I'm adding it! I have doubts about a special reinforced bed needed to install the Utili-track, could be though.

I just ordered the two rails for the floor of the bed (comes complete with mounting hardware for about $35 per track) and four cleats (4 for $187, whew!!!). Consider the cleats are only rated at 200#, the track has two mounting hole already in the bed, covered with a plastic plug and use of proper designed (OEM) fasteners.

I think adding is an option. I'll know for sure on Saturday morning. I'll post results. Dealer Parts department has it in in two days. This system ought to become available for all pickups.

Thanks for everybodies feedback on so many topics, this Site has been great for me.

This is what I'd be looking at if I didn't already have the Uni Track bed...

http://www.macscustomtiedowns.com/scripts/prodList.asp?idCategory=15

I use my uni-track very often, I fabbed a sheetmetal JAZ can holder that mounts to it, I took all those slider stops and removed the small bolts, drilled and tapped the back part and threaded in some forged seat belt eyes for addtional tie down points. I own 8 cleats and used every single one when chasing race bikes down in Baja last June...

I've never used mine much until recently. I was taking my family on a vacation to SoCal and had to have a way to keep the luggage secure when stopping at resturants, attractions, etc.

So I made a two piece 3/4" plywood cover that slides into the Utility Trac. At the tailgate I have foam gasket material and the locking tail gate makes it more secure than bungies. Primed and rolled on some exterior solid color stain.

Not real weather-proof but security was the main application, and we ususally don't get summer showers in Calif. I also, didn't want to spend many hundreds of dollars on a Retrax or other cover, and don't really want one on, all of the time anyway.

Glad I have the Utility Trac now.

Don't mean to hijack, but I have to say, the utili-trac system is nice but the best money I spent on mods has to be the Trifecta cover. It basically folds in three and is easily removable. Lund also makes one like it but it's more expensive.

The combo is unbeatable. I just spent the past two weeks moving from 2 apartments into a house. If the items were big, the cover folded up or came off in seconds. If it rained, we took loads of boxes that fit under the cover and not a single item got wet. We couldn't have done it with my old truck! Combined with the extend-a-bed, it's awesome!

Tracks came with bolts and washers. Apparently factory bed would have a special nut fastened into the bed (Threadsert sometimes it is called). I will position mine and drill through, then use nuts and washers (with Body Washers too) from underneath. Incredible price on Ebay for cleats. Dealer pays 35 each, sells for 50-55 normally. 28 on ebay for 4 of them! Great system Design, it will serve me well.

I asked the same question on Club Titan today. I thought the Utilitrac bedliner had special grooves to accomodate the rails? Are you just going to drill the rails into your existing bedliner?
Yes , I made a quick visit to the dealer, all looks as I described. Two big plugs from each groove are apparently drain holes. I'll go back and take an exact center to center measurement and look under the bed to be certain. Might be a couple weeks till I can get this project done. Working on Spoiler now.

Hi guys,

I've been looking into this today as well (just got my Titan XE on Thursday).

All the parts appear to be available here:

trademotion. com/partlocator/index.cfm?siteid=213824

Here is a parts list I've gathered so far, looks like the whole system without cleats would be about $350 + shipping.

Floor Channel Front Section Back 35.64 x2
Floor Channel Rear Section Back 35.64 x2
Side Channel Front Section Right 29.42
Side Channel Front Section Left 29.48
Side Channel Rear Section Right 45.69
Side Channel Rear Section Left 45.20
Front Channel 57.63

if you get a truck that HAS the util-atrack,and you would like like to remove it i was wondering how many holes would be in the bed. I am looking at a truck now where it has it but i do not want it,(it will break the drywall i am going to carry) dealer said he cant take it out but would not caharge me. if i end up getting it because it wil not look like crap if i take it out, then its yours. all you need to do is strengthen the underside of the bed where it would be bolted through by a piece of steel. ill let you know Briank

Yes, several holes would be left behind. Maybe 6-8 per bottom rail. Loc-Tite is on the threads, heat with blowdryer to remove easier. Are the plastic covers not enough to protect the drywall? Too high I suppose.

Just a reminder, buy the cleats on ebay or the For Sell section here, usually about 35 bucks for all 4. Also, depending on what you want to do, you may only want to put in some of the rails. Bottom should be fairly easy access, I don't know about side, depends on how you fasten them. Thanks for those part numbers.

Yeah, I haven't got mine in yet, but it is going in soon, running out of daylight, but did find my missing drill last week.
