Off-Road Lights and bars

I've been toying with the idea of adding a light bar or prerunner bar or something to the front of my 2011 Pro4x CC. I was thinking something like the NFab Prerunner bar or their light cage, either of which holds 3 lights. I have a few questions, though.

First, what other options are there?

Second, how tough are these which screw through the existing bumper (and require drilling to mount) as far as install? My primary concern is getting it all level, of course, but also being sure its secure.

I don't want to go the LED route, and HID is far outside the budget, so I'd be using something like Hella or KC round lights, most likely. I'm not terribly brand loyal, though I've had good service out of KCs in the past on other rigs. So, thinking round and halogen, I figured I'd split between flood and spots, but if I get a bar with only three tabs, what are everyone's thoughts on which one to do single versus paired? Two floods on the outside positions and a spot in the middle? Or two spots with a single flood in the middle? And would you switch them all together or run a dedicated spot switch and flood switch, whichever way you configured the three lights themselves?

If you've got pics of your own setups from the front and side, I'd love to see them. Some of these bars stick out a long way, and might not be the look I want.

Wow. Over 100 views, and not one comment. No pics of other guys' setups, no recommendations of brand or style. Did I forget to shower before I started this thread? ;)

Haha... doesn't that piss you off when that happens? I had some Warn halogens and recently removed them for a 20" led bar off of amazon. With the light bar, harness and switch, I only paid about $120 total. I mounted this on a bull bar. The Warn lights were wireless but we're about $225 when I got them a yr or so ago. Mounted them on my Jeep bumper now.

I have 3 Hella 500's up front. Here's an old thread on when I first installed them:
http://www.titantalk.com/forums/electrical-wiring/129759-hella-500-triple-mount-questions.html

Here's the relay I used:
Bosch Tyco Auto Relay 75 A Amp 12 V Volt Quality Heavy Duty High Current | eBay

I am now running 100w bulbs as I planned, I went with 3 "driving" beam 500's (non-FF, FF's have lots of beam artifacts), although I think 2 driving and 1 fog pattern would have been best. I rarely get to use them at night, I keep the covers on them as they get broken VERY easily.

Someday I'll get an LED bar when they are available in neutral white, high CRI version.

dubyam, Did you not want to go the LED route because of your budget, or do you just not prefer them? If its budget driven, Like Radtitan pointed out, LED bars are cheap these days and superior to halogen in my opinion.

I picked up a nice 42" LED bar on Amazon for only $120 total. Damn thing is awesome! It might not be a $1500 Rigid Bar, but then, I'm not racing the Baja 1000 with the Titan either. I just need to light up the occasional dirt road, and the Amazon $120 bar does just that. And perfectly I might add!

My aversion to LEDs is partly cost, but mostly looks. Even in round housings, LEDs just look funny to me. I'm just old-school, and will very likely have some good old KC Daylighters on this thing when all is said and done. Call me a relic, but the dadgum things work well and are not terribly expensive.

I may go to LED bulbs in all my factory lights, if I can find the right combination of brightness and color, though. I like LEDs for durability but off-road lights to me should look a certain way - like an old KC Daylighter or big Hella round light.

Round LED lights that look like 'normal' lights.

Lots of other round LED options through these guys too. Plus they're reasonably priced, and the majority of their products have lifetime warranties.

Very low watt draw and a pretty tight beam but these suckers freakin throw some light downrange! I have 6 that I am in the process of setting up to run on my custom light bar. But I have played with them at night before and they have some serious range on em. Great spot lights.

Keep me posted on how your setup comes together. The tax man took all my play money away, so it will be a while before a light bar or any aux lights come my T's way. At least that means I have time to plan and get it absolutely right. Looking forward to seeing the light output on your setup. I didn't see any flood-style lights on their page, however, so that may be a deal breaker, as I'd like a combination of spots and floods. We'll see.
