What vehicle did your Titan replace?

I sold my 98 Ford F-150 XLT Supercab to get the Titan. I had owned it for 4 years and was very happy with it (sold it for $4k less than I paid for it, cost of ownership was less than $100 per month:)), but my wife was pregnant with our first kid and I wanted to step up to a crew cab. The Ford never gave me any problems, though I felt that it was a little underpowered with the 4.6L, even with a K&N intake, Superchips, and Magnaflow exhaust. Then I drove the Titan and realized it was way underpowered! I've had the Titan for 9 months now, and I am convinced that there is no better 1/2 ton truck. I'm so happy with the power, I'm in no hurry to do any performance mods (not to mention the baby has forced me to reconsider how much money I can spend on mods for vehicles).

First pic is when I first bought it, 2nd pic is just before I sold it.

1997 Chevy K1500. I still have it to use for hauling firewood, etc. Actually was pretty happy with it, but having driven Chevy's for 20 years, I wanted to try something else, and once I saw and drove the Titan, I knew I had found the promised land! Have had my Titan for a month and just love it. Heck, I even look forward to going to work just so I can drive my truck : )

Got my Titan 'bout 3 weeks ago. Replaced a 2002 Chevy Silverado. Happiest day of my life when I finally got rid of that Chevy. I'll NEVER own another GM product again! As you can probably guess, the service guy & I were on a first name basis!!! :futwice:

2001 Ford Escape 3.0 FWD, about 90,000 miles, ran great. Gave it to my wife first, to replace her 1994 Ford Aspire, bought me the Titan CC for a larger vehicle than the Escape for family to travel in. I've always wanted a true full size truck, useful, tired of adding tailgate racks to haul stuff.

She liked the Escape for a few weeks, then she bought a Chevy Malibu that had been my Dad's, it was more her style she says. There both the same Dark Blue Metallic, a Nissan/Chevy matched set! :)

Replaced a 99 GMC Z71, loaded to the gilles and smelling of fresh leather. I still kind of miss it. I drove that truck harder than anything I've ever driven, and it begged for more.

Honestly though.....the 5.3 was missing a lot of lowend torque, and the rear end in the Z was a stupid ratio. Tough nonetheless.

The Titan is very nice, but the powerband seems to come on at 3 grand and go off at 4500 like a short of breath turbo.

95 Dodge Ram 1500 with the 5.9, was a good truck, never broke down on me ever but it cost a lot of money to keep it in good running condition, so at 130k I traded it for the Titan.

I traded in both a '95 F-150 with over 180,000 miles (original engine, tranny, and most major components) and an '02 Chrysler 300M. Still miss that car. Sweet ride. What a cruiser! Sucky transmission though. Blew at 52,000 and the rebuilt was also going at 80,000 when I dumped it.

I had two Nissan Frontiers a 91, and a 00, both four bangers but let me tell you what they lacked in power they made up in reliability. Those little Japanese engines were indestructible. I was married with three kids at the time, the last thing I needed was unnecessary repair bills. I have somewhat loyalty for Nissan after driving those little trucks for close to 15 years. Now that those days are over I am enjouing my Titan a whole lot more!:jester:

My Titan replaced a 1995 Chevy 3/4 ton extended cab. I bought the Titan in November and my son turned 16 the following June. I told him he coud have it if he was willing to put some sweat equity in it. He and I replaced the ball joints and Tie rod ends. He sanded the entire truck and preped it for a new paint job. I paid for a paint job and he had the color changed from green to dark blue. We had the cracked windshield replaced. He saved his money and put a dual exaust, new stereo, and front speakers in it. He just bought a pair of 12' Kickers and wil have 12volt build a sub box in the next month or so. It's a nicer truck now than it was when I drove it.

I traded a 99 Chevy Z71 single cab with the 5.3 for my Titan. I had 80,000 miles on it. All in all it was a good vehicle but I simply needed the extra room and after shopping around and driving the Titan it was a no brainer. The 5.3 in the Chevy doesn't have the torque that the Titan puts out down low.
