Hey guys, I'm going to be tinting my taillights pretty soon and I'm looking for the brightest bulb to replace my current back-up lights. I'm going to be doing a very light smoke on my taillights, but I'm not going to tape off the back-up part so I want to get brighter taillight bulbs. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe it's a 921 size bulb. Anyone know what's the brightest setup I can get?

Thanks for the help.

Yes that is correct the bulb size. Now for the brightest, all I have seen/have is 9 led bulb, which is not much but it gets the job done. My brother has something like 39 leds? But he has a Silvy. Also I have looked into doing full HID's in the rear and no luck with the bulb size.

I've heard that they will burn out really fast. I'm going to be getting some LED's from this Armaden guy as soon as he gets the issue sorted out with the reverse bulbs.

To chime in here. The whole point to the Reverse bulb is to illuminate the area behind the truck. Yep we have had some issues with the T10 fitting in the Titan not meeting the standardized T10 fitting of our Reverse bulb but make sure that when you purchase a Reverse LED that people can see you as well. The Flux T10 that R.A.D. bought has a directional light focus. Directly out of the reflector housing so that part is good. Here is a comparison between the 7LED Flux bulb and a typical 9LED T10 bulb:

As was mentioned previously some have had problems with their T10 sockets on the Titan matching with the T10 base of the new Reverse bulb and I have ordered a 12LED High Power chip based T10 bulb to eliminate that issue. You loose the spot bulb on the end but gain 8 more high power LEDs in the mean time to increase light output. Be careful what you buy out there and make sure that the seller has actually tested the LED in your vehicle's housing....

or when u tint them dont tint the reverse and you"ll be all set. its the same principle as tinting your windows. if you use 5% and you drive at night a lot or do any kind of backing up or pulling a trailer your screwed. i have done both and let me tell ya it sucks! so when i had my tails done i left the reverse portion cleared just for that reason. i wanted to see when i back up....

ArmaDen, when will you have these new bulbs for the reverse lights?

#12 ·
Should have them in by Monday. I will post the comparison pics. I know they will be bright as they are three fold the number of 3-chip 5050 LEDs but they just won't have the spot on the end. Thinking that the housing may do pretty well with guiding the light outwards already so we should be good.

Sounds great. Thanks man.

I'm keeping the price consistent at $8/per bulb. Obviously if you buy the lights in a package deal then the 10% off still applies. There are some customers that even though they had to tweak the leads a little bit still will not trade in the Spot light type bulbs due to the great light output. I suspect the issue is housing based versus Titan based as I have sold to some Titan drivers that have had zero issue. I expect the new 12-LED chip type bulbs to have great light output just without the spot LED on the tip. I want people to have a choice. Even though the new bulbs cost more from the supplier I will keep the price to where the buyer can make their personal decision. Shipping will still be free.

Side note: Since I added the new "mood" or ambient lighting bulbs to my recent order I will not be receiving the shipment until probably late next week. Smaller buyer so I get a little less drive in the pecking order. I'm getting there with the help of Titan and Mada owners but still just a little fish!

I'm going to want a mood light when you get those. I had problems with my reverse lights. I just bent the leads the other side, then bent them back. They have worked ever since and MAN they look good. Grea light output, but now I'm wondering about these new bulbs, I guess I will have to see pics

Too bad this thread isn't about aux backup lights, greytitan.

I'm one of those who wouldn't trade in the bulbs with the spot on the end. I'm also one of those who had to "tweak" the leads, but that wasn't a big deal to me. I really like the bulbs, and hope to be getting some more for a different location soon! Thanks, ArmaDen!

No worries, sir. I'm not in a big hurry. Going camping this weekend anyway so I'll be fishing, not modding. :)

Does anybody know if these are still avail? Or his Armaden has a website?
Thanks

Get a hold of JB at Legit Accessories. He makes some amazing super reverse lights. You can call him at 213-247-9149 or order them off of his site http://legitaccessories.com. I have his super reverse 2.0's and love them. Here are a couple of pics. These are the brightest reverse lights I have personally seen.

Those reverse lights are unreal. I just ordered a pair from his site as well as 4 interior dome lights. Cant wait for them. I wish JB had red leds for the courtesy lights in the door when its open. I ordered a couple red leds for doors that have 42 leds a piece. Hopefully doesnt shine through my whole door panel but at least people will know when i open my door on the street.

Armaden does not sell LED's anymore, and is very rarely on this forum. As Osiris says, JB is the way to go.

I called and left a msg on JB voicemail. I am wondering which is more worth it as far as light output 1.0 2.0 or 3.0 im assuming 3.0. any input if its worth the extra 10 bucks for the additional 10 leds...? Also I have a '04 XE crew 4X2 and I already have hid projector heads/fogs, led 3rd brake light and the volant led tails, as well as all LED interior lights in ceiling (front 2 and one in center) but im wondering what other LEDs i could even get. (im currently thinkin bout the tag lights bulbs when i order my reverse lights)

also what is the swivel light?? and what can be done to the factory orange "mood light"

Would try calling again later. I am surprised you even got his voicemail. Are you sure you dialed the right number? His voicemail has always been full, lol. As for the 2.0 vs the 3.0. The 3.0 will light up a bit more becuase it utilizes the reflector of the reverse lights. The 3.0s have leds on the side while the 2.0's dont. So those side leds will shine to the side of the light socket whereas thr 2.0 only have a little projector style lens that will shine straight back.
