Ya gotta work on your story. It sounds soooo much better like this: So there I was in the parking lot at the place that just fired me and I was doing a smoking burnout -as a parting gesture - that was so good you couldn't see anything for a block when all the sudden WHAM! all hell broke loose. The engine was still at 12,000 RPM but the tires were quiet so I shifted to 2nd gear. No luck. So I shut her down and there were metal parts all over the place! :eyebrow:

Broke as in the drive shaft is now laying on the ground? Or broke as in the transmission is in drive but the truck isn't going anywhere?

I very highly doubt his driveshaft is broke. It would be one thing if he was offroading or something but even if he launched outta a stoplight Im pretty sure a ujoint would break before the driveshaft.....though if it did pics are a must!!

4x4 driveshafts are easier to break as they are aluminum and 2wd are steel. They designed it like that so if you have your tires wedged (offroading) it will break the driveshaft before the axle shaft. Its Nissans contingency for if the u joint doesnt break.

Any updates? Or is this bogus? :dunno:

Did your rear TOTALLY lock up or something? I can't imagine the torque that it would require to do that if the rear end could spin freely...

I was at a stop light about to race my trucks stalled at 4500 ready to take off an as soon as I hit it boom it just brakes :/ , sounds like a lot of hp but I highly doubt it

That thing is aluminum so it was from a 4 wheel drive. My guess is that when you revved that thing up to 4500 RPMS and dropped the hammer it went boom. You essentially floored it and "popped the clutch." Too bad it's an automatic. Probably better your drive shaft than your tranny or differential.

Somethings break when you abuse them. Who would have thought?

Hey, did that cable get wrapped around that drive shaft (pic in truck bed)?

First time I've ever seen that on a low HP engine "just driving".

FIrst off the titan will not stall to 4500rpm (2200-2500rpm max under brake stall), unless you rev'd it in Neutral and dropped it into Drive which would make sense because the drive shaft will make either 2.94 or 3.36 revolution to one rotation of your rear wheels, follow me?

If your a 2wd, that is a 70lb steel d/s you broke, there are guys making 370rwhp-500rwhp at the track on stock D/S not breaking them on slicks.

Atleast you found the weakspot near the rear of the driveshaft before entering the pumpkin/diff.

Sorry for your luck bro, you can't clutch dump an automatic, the theory may be sound but the practice will leave you in pieces.
